  • Value Of Pi To 31 Decimal Places In Krishna Stuthi

The Mantras of Hinduism were grasped intuitively from the Ether, by the Seers,Rishis.

As such they have mystical properties in them.

Value of Pi in Krishna Stuthi.jpg
Value of Pi in Krishna Stuthi.

They deliver results  whether you know their meaning or not, for Fire will burn you whether you know it or not.

It helps to know the meaning for the spiritually inclined.

And for the disbeliever, the mantras are nothing more than gibberish, at most inane statements.

When one reads the meaning of he Gayatri Mantra, it is not profound, but the results it delivers are unimaginable, when intoned properly.

Some Mantras and Stuthis contain scientific facts.

One such is the Krishna  Stuthi, which contains the value of Pi to thirty-one decimal points.

    The Krishna Stuthi.

    gopi bhagya madhuvrata
    srngiso dadhi sandhiga
    khala jivita khatava
    gala hala rasandara

While this verse is a type of petition to Krishna, when learning it one can also learn the value of pi/10 (i.e. the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter divided by 10) to 32 decimal places. It has a self-contained master-key for extending the evaluation to any number of decimal places.

    The translation is as follows:

O Lord anointed with the yogurt of the milkmaids’ worship (Krishna), O savior of the fallen, O master of Shiva, please protect me.

At the same time, by application of the consonant code given above, this verse directly yields the decimal equivalent of pi divided by 10: pi/10 = 0.31415926535897932384626433832792. Thus, while offering mantric praise to Godhead in devotion, by this method one can also add to memory significant secular truths.

    (explanation: go/ga =3,  pi/pa =1, bhag =4, ya =1, ma =5, dha =9, ra =2, ta =6 and so on.)

    The Code.

The code used is as follows:

    The Sanskrit consonants

    ka, ta, pa, and ya all denote 1;
    kha, tha, pha, and ra all represent 2;
    ga, da, ba, and la all stand for 3;
    Gha, dha, bha, and va all represent 4;
    gna, na, ma, and sa all represent 5;
    ca, ta, and sa all stand for 6;
    cha, tha, and sa all denote 7;
    ja, da, and ha all represent 8;
jha and dha stand for 9; and
    ka means zero.

Vowels make no difference and it is left to the author to select a particular consonant or vowel at each step.

This great latitude allows one to bring about additional meanings of his own choice. For example kapa, tapa, papa, and yapa all mean 11. By a particular choice of consonants and vowels one can compose a poetic hymn with double or triple meanings.

In thought process, there is an intermediary stage between the concept and words.

Once formed thoughts remain dormant and this lies at the base of the tongue.

    This is kindled by Savitr,Savitri.

Savitri forms an essential part of the Gayatri Mantra, which is also on the Sun God, described as an Impersonal one.

Surya is described as the Witness,Sakshi of the Universe.

He is the force behind all actions.

Surya is the power behind Hunger.

Hunger is because food being burned to create Calories.

By controlling this fire Hunger may be conquered.

The Mantras are indicated in this Upanishad.

The Mantra is clubbed with Atibala Mantra and together they are called Bala and Atibala Mantra.

This Mantra was imparted by Sage Viswamitra to Lord Ram and Lakshman to overcome Hunger and Thirst.(Bala Kanda, Valmiki Ramayana)

    Savitri Upanishad.

Om ! Let my limbs and speech, Prana, eyes, ears, vitality And all the senses grow in strength.
All existence is the Brahman of the Upanishads.
May I never deny Brahman, nor Brahman deny me.
Let there be no denial at all:
Let there be no denial at least from me.
May the virtues that are proclaimed in the Upanishads be in me, Who am devoted to the Atman; may they reside in me.

Om ! Let there be Peace in me ! Let there be Peace in my environment !
Let there be Peace in the forces that act on me !
1-2. Who is Savitar, who is Savitri ? Who is Savitar, who is Savitri ?
Agni is Savitar, earth is Savitri.
Where there is Agni there is earth and where is earth there is Agni.
The two are causes forming one pair.
Varuna alone is Savitar, water – Savitri.
When there is Varuna etc., — they are the sources, forming a pair.

3-6. (Again) Air alone is Savitar, ether is Savitri.
Where there is air there is ether (and vice versa) – they are twin sources, forming a pair.
Sacrifice alone is Savitar and metres are Savitri – where there is sacrifice there are metres (and vice versa).
Thunder is Savitar and lightning is Savitri; where there is lightning (and vice versa). These two are twin sources.

7-8. The moon is Savitar and stars are Savitri.
Where there is the moon, there are the stars (and vice versa) – these two are twin sources.

    9. Man is Savitar, woman is Savitri.
Where there is a man there is a woman and vice versa.
They form one pair of sources.

    10. Mind is Savitar and world is Savitri – where there is mind, there is woman (and vice versa) – these two are twin sources.

    11. Of Savitri the first foot is Earth. ‘Of that Savitar, the admirable; fire indeed is adorable, water and moon are adorable.
The second foot is Bhuvar, the mind region; ‘we meditate on the radiance of that deity’ – the fire is the radiance; sun, moon are radiance.

    12. The third foot is the firmament – which may inspire our thoughts – this woman and man bring forth.

    13. He who knows this Savitri conquers death.

14-15. Of Bala and Atibala Virat Purusha is the seer, Gayatri the metre and deity.
    A, U, M are seed letters etc.
Their application is to the removal of hunger etc., ‘klam’ etc., are the group of six limbs.

Meditation: I ceaselessly practise these two, fronted by the moon pouring life into all, adept in removing sin, the rays of Vedic wisdom, whose are forms are Aum, whose bodies are solar in form !

Om, hsim bala, great goddess; hrim, mighty one; klim, yielder of four-fold human goals, granter of the boon of Savitar; hrim, adorable light of the deity !

O Atibala, embodiment of all mercy, destroyer of hunger and fatigue, we meditate on you who may inspire our thoughts. O essence of inspiration, adorned with the crown of Pranava, Hum, Phat, Svaha.

One who knows thus accomplishes his talks and shares his realm with Savitri.

    This is the Upanishad.

  • Brahmastra Invocation Mantra Other Astras.

Brahmastra was a weapon used by the ancient Hindus  in war.

It is very powerful and it can not be countered.

There are two more Astras of this Kind.

    Effect of Brahmastra.Image.jpg.
    Effect of Brahmastra.Image Credit. http://protectacow.typepad.com/

    The Paupatastra and the Narayanastra.

The Brahmastra has Lord Brahma as the presiding deity.

Pasupathastra Lord Shiva and the Narayanastra Lord Narayana.

As for as I read the texts, while there is no mention of Pasupathastra being fired except in One instance,

According to Kurma Puran, in the battle between the Purusha and demonic forces, Narasimha avatar escapes a powerful weapon called Pashupata.

It returned without causing any harm since it can be used only to uphold Dharma.

The Mantra for invoking the Pasupathastra was sealed by Lord Shiva to prevent misuse in Kaliyug.

This is the weapon of Lord Shiva and Kali.

Arjuna got this from Shiva and did not use it in the Mahabharata war.

Karna was cursed by Parashurama to the effect that he would forget the Invoking Mantra because he lied to Parashurama that he (Karna) was a Brahmin.

The Narayanastra was used by Aswathama in the Mahabharata war at Arjuna after Aswathama’s father Drona was killed.

    The Narayanastra is also unstoppable.

Lord Krishna advised all those who were present to drop all their arms and prostrate before it.

They did so, it did not harm them and instead started destroying the Universe, because Aswathama did not know how to recall it.

Narada advised him to offer a target for it and Aswathama offered his Precious jewel on this head.

For this irresponsible act, Aswathama was cursed by Narada to become Immortal and be wandering in the forest alone.

What is the Mantra to invoke the Brahmastra?

It is the Gayatri Mantra, intoned in a specific way.

It is by altering the sound waves in the Ether that the Brahmastra got its potency.

Sound is referred to as the “Nada Brahma” or the divine sound, that is to say, in abstraction too there is a connection with the divine.

There are two types of sound: un-struck/un-heard sound and struck/heard sound.

Un-struck sound is a vibration of ether, the upper or purer air near the celestial realm.

The enlightened yogis seek the unstruck sound called “Anaahata Nada”, and only they can hear it.

The struck sound or “Aahata Nada”, is the vibration of air in the lower atmosphere closer to the earth.

It is any sound that we hear in nature or man-made sounds, musical, and non-musical.

So to release Brahmastra it’s the Anahata sound which is used to chant Gayatri and not the normal Aahata sound which we use for puja.

    Stephen Knapp writes.

A key point in this regard is the ancient use of mantras, as already mentioned earlier. Not only could certain results be attained by the proper use of vibrations in sounds, but even today the use of particular mantras are known for calming the mind, lowering blood pressure, relieving one from unnecessary anxieties by changing one’s focus in life, and so on. It is also understood that certain mantras and prayers, such as the chanting of the spiritual names of God, bring to one the transcendental vibration of the spiritual world from where it comes. This means it is like a conductor, bringing the spiritual energy and frequencies that come from the transcendental strata. One of the classic mantras for this use is the Hare Krishna mantra (Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare / Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare). Experiments have already been performed that show the changes in those who regularly use this mantra. Plus, sages of India have used this mantra successfully for centuries in order to reach spiritual states of being.

Thus, by absorbing one’s consciousness in the sound vibration of these names of God, it will do several things, such as alter and improve the electrical impulses that are generated by the body, and help defend oneself from the negative impulses that one may encounter. In this way, it helps create a peaceful attitude within the individual and a healthier disposition. It also prepares one’s consciousness for perceiving higher levels of reality, opens one up to the spiritual world, gradually reveals one’s true spiritual identity, which would also allow one to see the unity between all people. It also harmonizes one’s existence with nature, and even begins to rekindle one’s real relationship with the Supreme Soul, God. Once the higher vibration of the spiritual realm is invoked on a regular basis in this way, and is opened for its use among the people in general, the chances for world change become enormous.

  • Source Of Hindu Daily Mantras Gayatri Mahanarayana Upanishad

Source Of Hindu Daily Mantras Gayatri Mahanarayana Upanishad

Hinduism has as its source The Vedas.

Vedas have two broad classification in respect of Knowledge and Duties, Gnana Kanda and Karma Kanda.

These two are not segregated and appear throughout the Four Vedas.

One has to segregate the Karma Kanda from the Gnana Kanda, which consists of Hymns and the enquiry into the Nature of The Self, the Upanishads.

One has, in Hinduism two kinds of Duties.

One is Nithya Karma, Daily Duties that are to be performed regularly daily and another Naimithika Karma, Duties to be performed with a specific purpose and for specific occasions.

Today, we have all the Mantras and Rituals inan orderly fashion and we follow them.

The source, the Vedas are vast and the information is spread over.

    How and who organised it?

Apasthamba organised it for those who live below the Geographical area Vindhya and Sathpura Range of Mountains.

But he had a pointer and for those in the Northern area of Vindhyas, there is  a master file of Reference, which is not well known.

Curiously it is an Upanishad that deals with not only with the enquiry into Reality but to daily Routine and other Mantras for specific occasions.

The Mahanarayana Upanishad is in Krishna Yajur Veda.

It contains the daily duties , procedures, mantras, and Devatha Gayatris.

This Upanishad is also called Yagniki Upanishad as it deals at length with passages from Vedas and other Upanishads in parts or full used in religious acts of worship. According to Sage Sayana this Upanishad contains whatever mantras left over to be chanted in respect of Karma, Upaasana and Jnaana after the recital of Samhitha and Braahmana which are brought together in this rare compilation.

Gayatri mantras in Maha Narayana Upanishad.

Rudra Gaayatri—“Purushasya vidma sahasraakshasya mahadevasya dheemahi | tannoe rudrah prachoedayaat || — we meditate upon the Purusha. We meditate upon Mahadeva the omniscient for that purpose. May that God Rudra, prompt us that meditation upon the Purusha!
“Tatpurushasya vidmahe mahaadevaaya dheemahi | Tannoe rudrah prachoedayaat”—we meditate upon that Purusha (Paramaatman).
We meditate on Mahadeva for that purpose. May that Rudra invigorate us in our action of meditating on Purusha!

    AATMAANUSANDHAANA MANTRA
    (Self-purifcation Mantras)
Then the following two mantras are addressed to gastric fire (Jatharaagni).
Scriptures prescribe this for chanting after Uttaraapoesana (after sipping water to conclude the meal).
Partaking of food is not for just nourishing the physical body but for supporting Self to surrender itself to the Paramaatman.
The Self is offered or surrendered to Parmaatman or Brahman and therefore this mantra is called Praanaahuti or symbolic sacrifices of five Praanas.

    Nourish Apaana with that food.

There the Sun does not shine; neither the moon and the stars, nor do the flashes of the lightening shine. How can then the ordinary fire? All these shine after the Supreme Being (Paramaatman), who is ever shining. (He is the cause of all other lights).
Mahanarayana Upanishad also contains the following two mantras similar to the above which are employed during the worship of the Lord.
    Uddeepyasva jaatavedoe-apaghnan nirritim mama | Pasoo(ga)mscha mahyam-aavaha jeevanamscha disoe dasaa ||
Oh Jaataveda (Omniscient Lord)! Shine brilliantly, destroying my sin. Bring to me animals that are useful for your worship. Bring to me from all the ten directions food and others essentials for my livelihood. (This refers to the dawn that brings morning light and with it life.)

Jaataveda, the Omniscient, we pray to you not to slay the world of cattle, horses and men that belong to us. Oh Lord of Fire, come to us without your terrible form. Bring us wealth and prosperity.
    PANCHA-BRAHMA—PANCHAANANA MANTRA
[Many of the Mantras of this Upanishad are chanted by Vaishanvites, Saivites and Sakta followers while worshipping their favorite deities.
It looks as though later some of these Mantras have been adopted by Saivites and glorified as being exclusive to Lord Siva or Paarvati even though they are found in this Upanishad which is devoted to Lord Narayana, who is Paramatman as per Ramanuja.
Some of these are Sivoepaasana Mantras, Tvarita Rudram Panchaanana Upaasanam and Durgasooktam].
The following five Mantras are interpreted by commentators as belonging to Lord Rudra.
The five names of Sadyojata, Vaamadeva, Aghora, Tatpurusha and Easaana signify the five faces (Panchaanana) of Lord Siva.
These prayers are introduced after Medhasookta in Mahanarayana Upanishad, as Medha (Jnaana or Intellect) is to be obtained from Rudra.

    Hindu Reflections.

  • For Success In Any Endeavor Mantra Shankaracharya

I have posted Five Mantras which will grant immediate relief for problems faced by us.

One would have noticed that all these mantras are not directed to One God or Goddess.

Nor are they culled from one source.

    Reason?

By faith I am an Advaitin, Nirguna Upasana.

Yet my Istha Devata is Tirukkadavur Abhirami.

While I trust Her implicitly, for She has taken care of me at the most difficult time of my Life,I have used many Mantras on various occasions, either for

    me or for others .

    Image of Bala Tripura Sunari.jpg.
    Bala Tripura Sundari

I have found, without exception, that all the Mantras delivered the result.

Hence the different Mantras are being posted based on my personal experience.

People may use, if they come across some other Mantras, if they come from a reliable source.

In all the Mantras I have posted, I have included the Bheeja Mantras as well.

Please use the Bheeja Mantras only after getting initiated from a Guru.

You shall get a Guru if you are ardent enough.

If this is not forth coming, one may pray Lord Subramanya at Swamimalai and start the Mantra.

    Or Hayagriva at Thiruvahhendrapuram

One faces challenges in Life and one gets over them too.

At times, one gets disheartened and loses initiative.

Nothing seems to work, despite your sincere effort.

Reason is that for any action to bear fruit, there are others factors, which are beyond our control, which have to contribute.

This is possible only if He Desires we should have the result, His Kadaaksha must be behind us.

Be it  getting a job, getting married, good education, removal of poverty, good spouse,,good children Health without disease, getting children

married, for Grand children, economic prosperity, ageing without problems .

Adi Shankaracharya  in his Soundarya Lahari has hidden the Bheeja mantras of the Devi in the 51 slokas composed by him (out of 57, the rest being

given to him by Lord Ganesha).

The following Mantra shall ensure that you shall succeed in any endeavor you undertake.

Please follow the general rules for reciting the mantras as detailed in my other posts.

I have provided additional information on this sloka, for the benefit of Sri Vidya Upasakas.

Smaram yonim lakshmeem tritaya-mida-maadau tava mano
    Nidhaayaike nitye niravadhi-mahabhoga-rasikaah
    Bhajanti twaam cintaamani-gunanibaddhaaksha-valayaah
    Sivaagnau juhvantah surabhigrita-dhaaraahuti-sataih

Smaram – “Kleem” the Kaama beeja mantra
yonim – “Hreem the Buvaneswari beeja mantra”
lakshmeem – “Sreem” the Lakshmi beeja mantra
    idam tritayam – these three
    aadau – in the beginning
    tava – your
mano – of the panchadasaaksaree mantra [ the divine mind ]
    Nidhaaya – combining
    yeke – few persons
nitye – Oh! eternal! Goddess Supreme!
niravadhi-mahabhoga-rasikaah – knowing the aananda from the continuous unbroken japa
Bhajanti – do the aaraadhana or pooja
    twaam – you
cintaamani-gunanibaddha aksha-valayaah – making the continuous stream of thoughts as the japamaala
Sivaagnau – in the agni in the sakti triangle in the Sri Cakra
    juhvantah – doing [ offer ]
surabhigrita-dhaaraahuti-sataih – hundreds of aahutis by the aatmaananda obtained by the ghee given by kaamadhenu

Oh! eternal Goddess Supreme! few persons knowing the aananda obtained from the continuous unbroken japa, do the aaraadhana or pooja for you, making the continuous stream of thoughts as the japamaala, in the beginning of Your divine Panca Dasa Aksharee mantra, combining the three “Kleem” [ the Kaama beeja mantra ], “Hreem [ the Buvaneswari beeja mantra ], “Sreem” [the Lakshmi beeja mantra], offer hundreds of aahutis by the ghee given by Kaamadhenu in the Agni in the Sakti triangle in the Sri Cakra.

Similarity between the Panca-Dasa-Aksharee mantra and Saavitree mantra.

In the Panca-Dasa-Aksharee mantra there are three kootaas whereas in the Savitree mantra, there are three paadaas.

If we add with the Savitree mantra, the three vyaahritees Bhoo, Bhuvah, Suvah, then the mantra gets converted to Gayatri mantra.
In the Panca-Dasa-Aksharee mantra, if you add three of the five vimarsa pranava mantras called aim, hreem, sreem kleem, sowh, then the mantra gets converted to sowbhagya pancadasaaksharee.

    In this sloka it is directed to add Sreem-Hreem-Kleem;
there is also another alternative mantra called sowbhagya mantra which is formed by adding aim-kleem-sow in the beginning of each koota.

    Sivaagnih :-
In the triangular shaped kunda if you form the agni, it is called sivaagnih. Great devotees, offer pure ghee obtained from cow on this agni with the bhaavanaa “sivoham” and apply all their actions [manasaa, vaacaa, karmanaa] to the god.

    Bhavanopanishad says :-
Aham twam asti naasti kartavyam akartavyam
    upaasitavyamiti vikalpaanaa-maatmani vilaapanam homah.
Juhwantah – offer to agni the goddess – this is called antar yaaga.
Chintaamani guna nibaddhaakshavalayaa – the japamaalaa has fifty one akshara shape. In that the place for the letter “Khsa” is called “meru”.

It is the sacred stone in the centre of the japamaalaa. Once you do the japa with the maalaa- counting, you should not cross over the meru, but go in the reverse direction then on reaching the meru.
The devotees can do this offering in one of the three ways depending on their mental condition; if he is a beginner [not a spiritual one], then he can do the offering with the materials in the agni physically formed one.

Second case is, he can offer the mentally prepared aahuti in the mentally prepared agni.
The third case is [for a spiritual seeker] , he can offer the aahuti in the agni in his own heart of hearts.

Bhagavaan Ramana Maharishi thus in his “Upadesa Saaram” thus :-
    Kaaya vaag mana kaaryamuttamam
    poojanm japa cintanam kramaat

    Smaram yonim lakshmeem :-
    Smaram represent “ha“kaara
    Yonim represent “sa”kaara
    Lakshmeem represent “ka”kaara

In the sloka referred in sloka 32, in the mantra,
“ka ye ee la hreem ha sa ka ha la hreem sa ka la hreem”

Replace the first three letters by “ha sa ka”, “haadi vidyaa” or “lopaamudraa vidyaa” is formed.
Aksha maalaa – is a prateeka of the sabda brahma which is imperishable which is also appearing as the destructive prapanca.

    Antar nirantara nirindhanamedhamaane
    Mohaandhakaara paripanthini samvidagnau
    Kasmimcidadbhoota mareeci vikaasa bhoomau
    Viswam juhomi vasudhaadi sivaavasaanam

In the inner heart of hearts, unbroken, but without indhana, lighting and destroying the mohaandhakaara and for the strange mareecis serve as vikaasa bhoomi – such a samvit shaped agni –
in this agni, I offer everything and anything in the world including Earth and Siva. [this is aatma samarpanam]
