  • Gujarat,Cops,Whistle blowing and Home Minister.

Two Senior Police Officers have been suspended.

While the Gujarat Government says that Sanjiv Bhat was dismissed for insubordination,Rahul Sharma and Rajneesh Rai for the same reason and for divulging official records to Nanavati Commission.

Sanjiv Bhatt,in an interview to Times Now news channel has admitted the following.

-He had been in touch with the Opposition Leader(Congress) and had accepted a Blackberry from him for ‘secure Communication‘ as his phone was tapped.

-He had been helping the Opposition,(though he did not say it in these words)  by exchanging correspondence with him on the subject, as he (Bhatt) felt that injustice was  being done and efforts were on to cover-up.

-He kept mum for about five to six years because he was in ‘Intelligence Department’.

    – He had accessed emails of  Police  Reports sent to him by a friend,a Civilian.

    Questions are.

How can a serving Police Officer be in touch with Leader Of the Opposition Party while in Service?

He says he kept quiet for six years because he was in ‘Intelligence’ as though Official Secrets Act applies only to those in Intelligence and not to others.

If he had felt that injustice and cover-up is on he should have resigned and gone to Media and filed a case against the Government immediately as he doing now.

He had accessed emails of others!

-then what is hacking ?that too a sensitive Police report?

If he wanted to have Secure Communication he should have bought a Blackberry on his own and not accept the same from the Opposition.

He can not arrogate himself to be an accuser and Jury by himself.

If evry civil servant behaves the same way ,what is the sanctity of the Official Secrets Act and how does one run the Administration?

The veiled threat of Chidambaram, the Home Minister, offering an escape route to those who violate Service Rules amounts to encouraging insubordination.

He forgets that Police is on State List and not on Central nor on Concurrent List.

All the more funny, coming froma Congressman ,the party which twists investigating Agencies and changes officers because they do not toe Congress line!

Instances are too many,Bofors,Quotrochchi,Nagarvala are a few pointers.

Finally this blog is not to condone excesses-let the process of law be followed LEGALLY.

Rajnish Rai, who has for some months now been on a collision course with the state government, has filed a rejoinder with the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) alleging that he was victimised by his senior officers since he had carried out an unbiased probe in the Sohrabuddin case. The CAT adjudicates in disputes and complaints with respect to recruitment and conditions of service of persons appointed to public services.

Mr Rai filed the rejoinder in the ongoing case challenging his downgrading of the Annual Confidential Report (ACR) by his then senior officers P C Pande and O P Mathur. The downgrading of the ACR, which can affect officers prospects for promotion, was stayed by the tribunal in April.

Mr Rai also alleged that Mr Pande and Mr Mathur had directed him not to record investigation details in connection with the encounter of Sohrabuddin Sheikh and Tulsiram Prajapati.

Mr Rai  says PC Pande played an acquiescent role to the criminal conspiracy of the then Minister of State for Home Amit Shah and others who tampered with official records pertaining to the Sohrabuddin case in the office of the Criminal Investigation Department (Crime).

He further alleged that Mr Pande hid the truth from the Supreme Court by deleting facts from the draft Action Taken Reports which were uncomfortable to the state government.

Mr Rai is one of the few senior ‘whistleblower’ police officers who have alleged that they were targeted by the Narendra Modi government.

Sohrabuddin Sheikh was shot dead in November 2005 on the outskirts of Ahmedabad. His wife, Kauser Bi, was killed a few days later. At the time, Gujarat’s Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) said that Sohrabuddin was a terrorist who planned to assassinate Modi. In 2007, the Gujarat state government admitted in court that Sohrabuddin and Kauser Bi had been wrongly killed. Some of the state’s senior-most policemen are in jail, charged with murder, criminal conspiracy, and kidnapping. (Read: Who was Sohrabuddin Sheikh?)

  • Sorabudin Tapes, Yet another Sleazy Shennanigan of India.

    Circles within Circles?!

There is a huge political row over the Sohrabuddin Sheikh tapes as the BJP and Amit Shah‘s lawyer question the credibility of Patel brothers and the CBI’s motives.

The five sting tapes make Amit Shah’s link to the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case evident. The tapes establish how a desperate Amit Shah tried to intimidate builders – Patel brothers so that they wouldn’t spill the beans.

Raman Patel appeared on TIMES NOW yesterday (July 26) and alleged that Amit Shah threatened them to stay silent on the Sohrabuddin encounter.

TIMES NOW accesses the Sohrabuddin tapes that show Amit Shah allegedly despatched his aides to influence Patel brothers from making disclosures in the Sohrabuddin case.

In the first taped conversation which was recorded on the 3rd of February earlier this year, in the conversation between close aide of Amit Shah – Ajay Patel is mocking the CBI as he tries to convince the builder Patel brothers – that they have nothing to fear from the agency – if at all they are questioned in the Sohrabuddin case.

The second tape is of the conversation that takes place at the Ahmedabad Rifle Club on the 3rd of March 2010. In this tape, former cop Abhay Chudasama is trying to almost tutor the Patel brothers on what to say when the CBI questions them.

AJAY CHUDASAMA: We will tell you what you have to say to the CBI

PATEL BUILDERS: We had gone to the police after firing at our office. We don’t know anything about the encounter

AJAY CHUDASAMA: Forget about anything else. You only talk to the CBI about the firing incident at your office. You say that money lender Manilal was behind the firing at your office

AJAY CHUDASAMA: Don’t get afraid of the CBI. They won’t torture you. You just give them precise and quick answers

PATEL BUILDERS: We got involved in this because of Mahendrasinh. He was the one who introduced us to Sohrabuddin. But we will only follow whatever Sir Chudasama tells us to do

AJAY CHUDASAMA: I will send you written instructions. You study them carefully. It will help you in the CBI interrogation

PATEL BUILDERS: But we are afraid of the CBI. Will they torture us?

AJAY CHUDASAMA: Don’t worry. The CBI won’t even touch you

PATEL BUILDERS: But we are scared?

AJAY CHUDASAMA: The case is still being investigated by the CBI and they are talking to a lot of people
CHUDASAMA: The case is still being investigated by the CBI and they are talking to a lot of people.
