Useful info. Thanks. Tatkal is a total sham. Mostly cornered by tout-railway clerk nexus. Many times, I just could not complete the transaction as the system runs slow kind courtesy deliberate logging in by touts from all over India. You are then forced to go the Booking Counter where their raj runs.
The reason for IRCTC sever being busy is that too many people log in at the same time.
Railways must improve the Server capacity.
As for as touts are concerned IRCTC is helpless as it would be impossible to bar them as they are (at last some of them are) authorized travel agents.
Probably they can be issued with special codes, but again how to ensure that they do not misuse it?
As in Corruption, people must change their attitude.
To facilitate easy log in try at the end of the night 15 minutes before closing time or log in around 8 am.
We are talking of internet users.
What about people who have to stand in the queue?
I have seen counters closing in 5 minutes flat!
