There is no point in refusing to face facts.Indians are attacked.Reasons known till now exclude robbery,previous enmity,local transgressions, or sex.
When other ethnics are relatively safe,why Indians alone are attacked?Reason could be because of their higher performance levels and consequent success in Australia.This has to be studied and solution found.
Also Indian students need to be more careful in moving about and must keep low profile in a foreign country.
However, Australia should not try to sweep the problem under the carpet in the hope of containing Diplomatic fall out for their denial mode is producing the opposite effect.
Time for authorities to admit racist attacks and take action or bar Indians from entering Australia.You can not have ambivalence here..

THE Indian media have a point: Why is it that only Indian students can’t protest and where are all the ethnics in the halls of Victorian power?
The Victorian police and Government are furious at depictions in the Indian media that the spate of violent attacks on Indians in their state is racially motivated and that Victorian officials are blissfully ignorant of the problem.
Federal Opposition frontbencher Barnaby Joyce says extreme caution needs to be exercised before making allegations that the attacks are racially motivated.
Maybe Joyce is right and the “R” word should be off-limits. So I gave the Victoria Police and the Government the benefit of doubt.
I admit I was bemused by the uncompromising declarations by police command and Victorian government officials that the high number of attacks on Indian students in the state was not related to racism, which seemed to fly in the face of official police assault victim statistics showing that Indians are assaulted 2.5 times more than the rest of the population.
