The vital difference in acquiring Knowledge between India and the West lies in the fact that while Knowledge is  a Positive Concept in the West, it is Negative Concept in India.

Anti Gravity Interstellar Ships of Ancient India.

knowledge, in its fundamental form Awareness, is, not acquisition of some thing new and external to us,but the removal of Ignorance,Misconceptions Avidya.

Once the false notions are removed Real knowledge shines forth.

Buddhism and Jainism state the same Truth but there are minor Philosophical differences on this with Hinduism.

Pure Knowledge is Pure Consciousness, Chit.

Please read my Post Vedas on Consciousness.

There are many methods of obtaining this Knowledge.

Patanjali follows the Raja Yoga  in his Yoga Sutras.

He describes the process of obtaining this Knowledge in the first Yoga Sutra.

    ‘Yoga:Chitta Vruththi Nirodhithaha’

Yoga(Union with Reality) is Cessation of Modification of Chitta.

For detailed explanation please read my post on this.

On successful completion of the Yoga procedures, or even during the process one shall gain some special powers.

    These are eight in number.

    • Aṇimā: reducing one’s body even to the size of an atom
    • Mahima: expanding one’s body to an infinitely large size
    • Garima: becoming infinitely heavy
    • Laghima: becoming almost weightless
    • Prāpti: having unrestricted access to all place
    • Prākāmya: realizing whatever one desires
    • Iṣṭva: possessing absolute lordship
    • Vaśtva: the power to subjugate all

Of this Laghima is the power to defy Gravity.

As Reality is One and as are the Reality, the realized Ones, can alter the perceived objects and bend them to their Will.

They can regroup the atomic composition of Matter.

They can make things lighter than air, make things move in a Vacuum.

All these were documented bu Yogis and Siddhas in their works in the form of Sutras.

There was a group of Nine Unknown Men during the period of  Emperor Ashoka, who were the guardians of these.

They were the Illuminati of India.

Please read my Post on this.

Such a Manuscript was found in Lhasa, Tibet by the Chinese.

    Read the following.

‘The “Nine Unknown Men” wrote a total of nine books, presumably one each. Book number was “The Secrets of Gravitation!” This book, known to historians, but not actually seen by them dealt chiefly with “gravity control.”

It is presumably still around somewhere, kept in a secret library in India, Tibet or elsewhere (perhaps even in North America somewhere). One can certainly undertand Ashoka’s reasoning for wanting to keep such knowledge a secret, assuming it exists, if the Nazis had such weapons at their disposal during World War II. Ashoka was also aware devastating wars using such advanced vehicles and other ‘futuristic weapons’ that had destroyed the ancient Indian “Rama Empire” several thousand years before.

Only a few years ago, the Chinese discovered some sanskrit documents in Lhasa, Tibet and sent them to the University of Chandrigarh to be translated. Dr. Ruth Reyna of the University said recently that the documents contain directions for building interstellar spaceships!

    Flying Machines

Their method of propulsion, she said, was “anti-gravitational” and was based upon a system analogous to that of “laghima,” the unknown power of the ego existing in man’s physiological makeup, “a centrifugal force strong enough to counteract all gravitational pull.” According to Hindu Yogis, it is this “laghima” which enables a person to levitate.

Dr. Reyna said that on board these machines, which were called “Astras” by the text, the ancient Indians could have sent a detachment of men onto any planet, according to the document, which is thought to be thousands of years old.

The manuscripts were also said to reveal the secret of “antima”; “the cap of invisibility” and “garima”; “how to become as heavy as a mountain of lead.”

Naturally, Indian scientists did not take the texts very seriously, but then became more positive about the value of them when the Chinese announced that they were including certain parts of the data for study in their space program!

This was one of the first instances of a government admitting to be researching anti-gravity.

The manuscripts did not say definitely that interplanetary travel was ever made but did mention, of all things, a planned trip to the Moon, though it is not clear whether this trip was actually carried out. However, one of the great Indian epics, the Ramayana, does have a highly detailed story in it of a trip to the moon in a Vimana (or “Astra”), and in fact details a battle on the moon with an “Asvin” (or Atlantean” airship. ..

According to ancient Indian texts, the people had flying machines which were called “Vimanas.” The ancient Indian epic describes a Vimana as a double-deck, circular aircraft with portholes and a dome, much as we would imagine a flying saucer.

It flew with the “speed of the wind” and gave forth a “melodious sound.” There were at least four different types of Vimanas; some saucer shaped, others like long cylinders (“cigar shaped airships”).

The ancient Indian texts on Vimanas are so numerous, it would take volumes to relate what they had to say. The ancient Indians, who manufactured these ships themselves, wrote entire flight manuals on the control of the various types of Vimanas, many of which are still in existence, and some have even been translated into English.

The Samara Sutradhara is a scientific treatise dealing with every possible angle of air travel in a Vimana. There are 230 stanzas dealing with the construction, take-off, cruising for thousand of miles, normal and forced landings, and even possible collisions with birds.

In 1875, the Vaimanika Sastra, a fourth century B.C. text written by Bharadvajy the Wise, using even older texts as his source, was rediscovered in a temple in India.

It dealt with the operation of Vimanas and included information on the steering, precautions for long flights, protection of the airships from storms and lightening and how to switch the drive to “solar energy” from a free energy source which sounds like “anti-gravity.”

The Vaimanika Sastra (or Vymaanika-Shaastra) has eight chapters with diagrams, describing three types of aircraft, including apparatuses that could neither catch on fire nor break.

It also mentions 31 essential parts of these vehicles and 16 materials from which they are constructed, which absorb light and heat; for which reason they were considered suitable for the construction of Vimanas.

This document has been translated into English and is available by writing the publisher: VYMAANIDASHAASTRA AERONAUTICS by Maharishi Bharadwaaja, translated into English and edited, printed and published by Mr. G. R. Josyer, Mysore, India, 1979 (sorry, no street address). Mr. Josyer is the director of the International Academy of Sanskrit Investigation located in Mysore’

  • Indian Thoughts, Advanced Modern Concepts

We live in a Technological Age.

Whatever Theories have been formed they find expression in Technology.

Technology is so advanced that we are in fact of theories to support them!

Yet some of the Theories in Science need further examination and updating

Indian Philosophy has crossed this barrier thousands of years back and some of the Theories which we use now had ben used by them and were developed further,

(Note. In India, we use the term Philosophy in the broadest sense ,that is to know, to be aware of;Science is included in this)

But then there have been claims often that ’this is in Indian Philosophy, the finding is not new’.

This statement has been repeated ad nausea that people have started ridiculing these assertions.

We shall examine some of the Theories of Indian Philosophy and their relevance to modern Scientific Thought.

( When we say Indian Philosophy, it includes all systems of Thought ,Buddhism,Jainism,Sankhya,Nihilism,Atheism)

To begin with take the fundamental of Science.

The essentials of Science rest on two Axioms.

a)Law of Uniformity of Nature and

    b)Theory of cause and Effect

Modern Physics , till recently, has been so rigid in its assertion that the laws of Physics are Universal and apply to the Universe.

Now they have revised their opinion.

They have come to the conclusion that the Physical laws that exist in our plane of existence may not be true or applicable to other levels.

The Quantum theory supports this view and the Theory also lends evidence to the existence of other universe at the other planes that exist simultaneously!

How does Indian Philosophy look at this problem , what is its stand on this and how does it explain these phenomena?

Indian Philosophy confirms the existence of 14 present Universes in our plane and more in other planes.

Modern Physics has proved, albeit theoretically, the existence of 11 planes that exist in different co ordinates.

    We shall examine this .

    2.Mathematics and Time .

Those who are keeping tabs of modern physics are aware that Time Travel is theoretically possible, though modern physics can not reconcile certain facts.

Those who have read Isaac Asimov’s “Eternity’ and seen some of the Hollywood Films on Time, like The Moth man Prophecy (based on True life story),’Next’ will know that by extending the Logic of these films which are correct any way), one can see the contradiction.

If one were to travel back in Time , meet his self at that point of time and kills him /kill his mother ,Grand mother before (the man in who travelled to the past) before they were responsible e for his birth, what happens to his existence now?

If Time travel is possible, we can also alter Time.

When we alter Time we are altering Events which have happened already.

If we alter them now, what happens to the Events that have taken place?

Take the general Theory of Relativity.

Einstein’s Theory states Light is the fastest traveling medium .

During his Time it was proved that there are particles that travel faster than Light.

Einstein replied that if they travel faster than the Velocity of Light, they no longer remain Matter!

    The what is Matter?

Also note the Principles of Motion by Newton.

Newton uses the term velocity to indicate Speed as Speed can have negative integers, namely Positive and Negative.

How does a common Mind accept this?

And if we cover distances swiftly by travelling fast, then theoretically at least, at some velocity, we should be reaching the Destination before we left!

Motion is movement from One point to another, right.

Science axiom state that Space infinitely divisible.

So Motion will be covering infinite Space.

    That means Motion is impossible!

Hoe does Indian Thought solve this problem?

By The Non Linear Theory of Time.

We shall deal with this, the concept of other Universes, The Concept of Infinity and Zero.

    ………….                                               To be continued

What if some kills himself/Father /Mother by going back in Time, what happens to his Existence?

    Does he exist or not?

Physicists, based on Quantum Mechanics , declare that our Universal Laws do not apply to things /Events existing at other planes.

    Hinduism and Science.
    Science and Hinduism

Are there other planes of existence?

Do Multiverses exist as proved by The Quantum Theory?

What is Theory of Evolution of The Universe?

    Did they anticipate Electric lights?

What is Infinity and are there particles that travel faster than Light?

Modern Science measures astronomical distances with the Unit of Light.

Is it the correct way or are there better ways?

    What exactly is Sound?

How does a language affect one’s Life?

    What exactly is Magnetism?

Did people know how to travel in Space?

If so,did they have a Craft and design and how was it fuelled?

Did our ancestors develop Weapons of Mass Destruction(WMD)?

How does it compare with Hydrogen,Atom and Neutron Bombs?

Or did they have Cluster Bombs and nerve gas ?

Did they possess the skills of Clairvoyance,Clairaudience,Telepathy and Kinetasis?

To which Level had they evolved in terms of Military Strategy and battle Formations?

Test Tube babies-are they Modern developments?

Were they aware of Organ Transplants?

Were there aware Stem Cell Research and rejuvenation of dead Organs?

What is their view od Brain Death?

    What about Genealogy ?

What are X and Y chromosomes?

Nan we predict the days on which you can have sexual inter course to beget a child of your choice?

Or what did they know of Consciousness and were there any records of “Near Death Experiences?

Did they know about the Organisation of Organisation Structure?

Were there any concepts that prove the Axioms of Science?

Did they have a system of Logic which overtakes the Logical Positivism of Bertrand Russell?

Have they developed the best language for Computer?

We shall in a Series of articles examine these thoughts and some more interesting points.

The examination will not be in “ we told you so’ mode but an exposition of facts taken from our Texts ,

    The Vedas,

    The Ramayana, of Valmiki

    Adhyatma Ramayana

    The Mahabharata,

    Yoga Sutras of Patanjali

    Nyya Vaasishtam by Vasishta.

    Asthavakra Samhita

And many more and they will be referred to as and when required.

    The Vishnu Purana .

    Bhavishya Purana.

    Kalki Purana.

    Brahmanada Purana.

    Saptha Bhangi Naya of Jainism.

    Vigyana Vada of Buddhism.

    Purva Mimaamsa

    The Upanishads.

We will examine them and interpret them in the language of Modern Physics.

We would also predict the route Modern Science will take or ought to take and the results they are likely to get.

  • Memory Is…… Yoga Sutra 1.11

After touching on what thoughts are and how we get them, Patanjali now is defining the important function of the Mind, ‘Memory’

We come (our senses) come into contact with sense objects.

    We become aware of them

    Neurology explains the process thus.

We have neurons in our Nerves.

The neurons have two essential parts,

    Axon and Dendrites.

These when the come into contact, through the appropriate sense, transmit the sensation, in the form of an electrical/magnetic impulses to the Brain.

( there is a debate whether these are transmitted as an electrical impulse or they are Magnetic;Indian Philosophy and Buddhism say it is an Magnetic Impulse)

These messages  do not travel through a pipeline as it were.

There is a small gap between one neuron and another.

The gap is called the ‘Synaptic Gap’

The impulses jump in the form of waves(electrical/magnetic)i to another neuron till the impulses reach the Brain or the Spinal Cord.

Depending on our Nature, the emergency and nature of the message , the Brain or the Spinal cord takes decision and reacts.

If we are sleeping, a mosquito votes us, the message is acted upon by the Spinal Cord..

If we see some things, then action is taken by the Brain.

Before this action takes place, the brain, after receiving the impulses (Stimulus), searches its memory bank to identify whether there is already some information there already and banks the stimulus there.

Then the Action center of the Brain takes charge.

It decides the action to be taken, based on the threat to the organism(individual) and selects a course already banked in the Data base, Memory.

In case the stimuli appears for the first time, action is taken on the basis of the threat level to the organism and the unconscious imprints of the actions already taken by the Brain earlier.

Then the message flashes out to the  appropriate muscles through the Nervous System.

    Then we react.

Patanjali goes to the roots here and talks about the ‘Unforgotten experience’ .

He does not say ‘ remembered’, but says ‘unforgotten’

We remember what we want to and forget what we want to.

Patanjali here  says ‘unforgotten’ because the ‘forgotten’ ,(what we think consciously as” forgotten’ this is a paradoxical concept), Memory includes those which we consciously think we have forgotten!

Many of us are aware a,that, at many an instance, memories of what we thought have forgotten rush to us suddenly.

Memory, according to Yoga, is the recollection of ‘unforgotten’ experiences, both conscious  and unconscious.

( In Indian Philosophy, there is no such thing as Unconscious‘ ,we just do not remember that’s all).

So as a corollary,as all our actions, reactions, are registered and come back to us,

    Indian Philosophy says,

‘Think, speak, and do Good always’

    and Tamil Says,’

    ஒன்று உண்டென்று இரு , தெய்வம் உண்டென்றிரு ,உள்ளதெல்லாம் உனதன்று  என்று  இரு ‘

“Trust The Reality,God,Remember whatever is here is not yours’

anubhūta – perceived, understood, apprehended; resulted,; that has experienced, tasted, tried or enjoyed
viṣaya – sphere (of influence or activity); dominion, kingdom, territory, region, district
    country , abode
asaṁpramoṣaḥ – the not allowing to be carried off, not letting drop (as from memory)
    smṛtiḥ –  memories, remembrances,

    Patanjali's Yoyga Sutra 1.11
    Yoga Sutra 1.11

    Memories are unforgotten sensory experiences”

  • Knowledge Systems Patanjali Yoga Sutra 1.8

After explaining what the instruments or tools of Knowledge are, Patanjali sets on defining Correct and incorrect Knowledge.

Knowledge is simply Awareness, that there is something.

This is the beginning of Perception.

For perception, please read my Post ‘Perception’

    Yoga Sutra
    Yoga Sutra

For awareness, three things are needed.

    The one who perceives(Subject)

    That which is Perceived(Object) and

A  Relationship between these two(Subject and the Object)

A Table (Object) may be there and you ( Subject) are present..

If you see the Table in front of your eyes, the system you follow is Realism.

You are in a room and the Table in another room.

But you know that the table exists m because you know it used to be there.

    This is Objective Idealism.

There might be stable in your friend’s House in some other place or take the instance of Mars.

In this case, you do not have the idea as such personally.

But it exists as an Idea in some one else’s Mind.

When we take things to Be, of which we have no IDEA,it is called Subjective Idealism or Solipsism., because it Exists as an Idea in some one else’s Mind.

‘Forget every thing, I am able to write on this, it has four legs and a Top’

    This is Pragmatism.

Every information is through Language, that is from Words.

In a Language, words are logically connected(excepting for the Politicians).

So to know clearly one has to simply understand the logical connectivity and analyse the. language and words’the logical connectivity between them.

    This is Called Logical Positivism.

All these systems evolved on being aware of.

By following all systems or any, still we are left with Incorrect Awareness(Knowledge).

    Patanjali Yoga Sutra 1.8
    Yoga Sutra 1.8

This Incorrect Knowledge prevents us from the Correct Knowledge.

There is an interesting thought on this.

    What is Correct?

That which is True all times?

The funny thing is what or how we define Truth.

Secondly if existence at all times is the criteria for  Correct Knowledge, no Knowledge is Correct for none of us will be around whether a particular thing will be there to after our Death.

    In fact things do change.

What we have seen yesterday is no the same to-day.

    Take an Individual.

    I was 10, 25. 40 and 62 now.

    Every second I grow.

I am different in all aspects this second from what I was seconds earlier.

The what is the Truth about Me?

An instance from Adi Sankara‘s Life.

Adi Sankara was engaged in an argument on  Theory of Knowledge( Epistemology) with the Buddhists.

Adi Sankara’s Advaita and Sunya Vada of Buddhists are poles apart.

    The Buddhists said,

‘Look at this candle, it has been burning for quite some time now.

It has consumed Energy, its throwing around light has  reduced it  the quality(intensity) of Luminescence .

It is dripping wax , affecting its Mass.

So the Candle which we see this second is not the same as the one we saw a seconds ago.

    Therefore, Change alone is Real’

    Sankara replied,

    I agree with you entirely.

Yet , with all the changes you say, how is it you say it is a Candle ?

If it has been changing every second, as you rightly said., how come w still call it a Candle?

The reason is that we KNOW, despite all the apparent changes, there is substratum running which is Permanent, through which we know a Thing exists”

Now Patanjali speaks of Incorrect Knowledge thus.

‘Viaparyayo mithya Gnanam  atad rupa pratishtam’

Wrong knowledge does not correspond the to the Real thing.

I will post more information on this in the next Sutra as well.

Note; As we enter slowly into Patanjali, the thoughts may be, just may be a bit abstract.

I am trying to be as clear as possible.

Please write to me if there is any query.

And of course if there are any mistakes.

    * let no one be intimidated by these high sounding words like ‘Epistemology’ and  ‘isms”

They are just sounds that’s all by the Scholars to scare you.

The thought behind them is very simple, your grand mother can explain them simpler.

  • Baby swinging Yoga(?).Video.

    This is not yoga.

Read the original text of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra.

Do not follow any of the self-styled Gurus or any other book.

Follow the link for a horror video.

    Story:

The following video shows a Russian lady subjecting a squirming baby to “dynamic exercises” that involve swinging it by its arms and ankles, upside down and over her head. Oddly, there is precedent: Russian swinging baby videos are a meme.

Baby Yoga with Lena Fokina” (as, I am told, the title frame translates) originated on YouTube. It contains a URL that leads to a Russian ‘404 error’ page. The baby moves at the beginning (0:10) and end (5:10), and spends the middle portion swinging around like a discus. It’s so ridiculous, I burst out laughing the first time I saw the baby flip—then grew uncomfortably quiet as I contemplated that possibility that I was watching an infant being hopelessly maimed. But it can’t be real, right?

As it turns out, Russian swinging baby videos of dubious origin are a recurring phenomenon: Two years ago, video of a Russian (or perhaps Ukranian) man swinging a baby by its arms and legs ignited mass hysteria and led to Australian police raiding a journalist’s house. (Child abuses charges were laterdropped.) In the aftermath, Liveleak posted a clip from a documentary about a Russian circus family, which shows a man “training” a baby by swinging it around, albeit significantly more gently.
