Obama has, by his demeanor and views, has coveyed ,for the first time after JFK, that US is not arrogant,unilateral and a Big Daddy.US is perceived in most countries as arrogant and bossy.This Obama seems to eradicate this impression.
His practical approach in G 20 meet and the dexterity with which he has handled UK and France was good.His approach to world trouble spots is practical,his reactions to N.Korea has been sober and matured.
In all, Obama conveys the impression of being soft yet firm;firm and consensus building-marks of a statesman.

North Korea.
Not an easy choice to make;to engage NKorea would result in it retaliating at Japan, where US has bases, SKorea and US itself with the help of the missiles it tested recently.Assuming that US strikes,what would be the net result?You can not destroy all nuclear arsenal in NKorea;even if one tries, China and Russia would not allow it.
The other option is to keep quiet which is far more dangerous in that it would weaken US and also encourage powers like Iran to follow suit.
Only option is to seek the help of China and Russia and rein in NKorea.Also exert covert economic pressure on Russia and if you can, on Russia apart from imposing sanctions on NKorea -
National Security-Press Vs Establishment
Establishment often resorts to National Security Tag when they feel they are threatened.Remember Nixon?Having said that mature decision has to be taken by the media to decide what is Natonal Security and what is not.It is not to be abdicated to anybody else.However, publisher’s political leanings have a say as well.It is a tricky situation.Unless credible repoting is done, news papers will be something people read-when they miss late night TV and one which puts in words between advertisenments

Govt.Vs.Individual Responsibilty.
When Govt. decides to undertake individual’s responsibility, the net result is what we are witnessing today.No doubt, welfare measures are called for, but individuals also must take the onus of providing for themselves and Family.When State takes responsibility, the individual’s responsibility diminishes and State takes responsibility because individual’s do not take personal and familial responsibilty.Typical egg or hen-which came first situation.Sensible long term measure should be to promote familial commitment and discouragement of Single parent culture/living together culture; and responsibility for elderly must be on the offspring.
Simultaneously as benefits accrue to all, all must be taxed, based on their familial commitment-tax less for those who support family and elders and more for other categories.
The present problem is not only economical, but a sociological one, the symptom being economic dependence on State.Look at Communism, where individual responsibility is relegated second to State,leading to the collapse of Communism and the tearing of familial fabric. -
Holocaust.Palestine and Jews
Obama is Right.Jews have suffered.Holocaust is a reality.No point in denying it.But,the fact that Jews have been suffering for a long period does not confer them the Right to make another people homeless.By the way, if you go sufficiently long back in history, you may find that all lands belonged to all and no land belonged to any one specifically.Going back in History/Mythology on Promised Land is ridiculous.As per Hindu Scriptures, entire Planet was peopled byHindus.Does it mean they can claim the whole world for themselves?
One question I would like an answer for-why is it ‘N” number of races have been bent on persecuting Jews?At least some of them should have been helpful to them.May be, something wrong some where.<a href="http://“>
