  • 50 Hundreds!Only Sachin can.

Listen to his philosophy for success, nothing but Karma Yoga in action.

Some cricketers ‘  total career score  do not exceed 5000

But Sachin remains the epitome of Humility,Modesty, and Simplicity.

Despite standing on the threshold of history, Sachin Tendulkar seemed unfazed by the media attention and the anticipation around his 50th Test century.

“I believe it is destiny. When it is destined to happen it will happen. I am not thinking too much about it. My focus is on preparation,” Tendulkar said.

Tendulkar, however, preferred to focus on the match and not personal landmarks.

“For me one thing is very important and that is to get acclimatised to local weather conditions,” he said. “Preparations have been spot on and the lengthy practice session has given us that opportunity (to get acclimatised). “We have had good net sessions under the guidance of coach Gary (Kirsten),” he said.

    Lara on Sachin.

The Indian master blaster, Sachin Tendulkar gets another feather of praise and honor added to his cap as the great player of West Indies, Brian Lara described the Indian batting legend as the “Don Bradman of modern era”, but he refused to compare the two icons of the different eras.

Talking about Tendulkar and his excellence in batting, the Caribbean batsman who is equally famous for his record score states that what astonishes him about Sachin is his longevity and attachment to the game. Lara says, “I don’t think that there is any competition between the two legendary players. Both are great in their own skill with love for the game. Tendulkar has proved to the world his capability and longevity in the game which is definitely praiseworthy.”

“The longer time Sachin stays in the game, he is going to tumble more records. The fact that a player can perform brilliantly from the age of 16 till date at the age of 37 is something to cherish and admire than anything else” says Lara. He also says that Don Bradman and Sachin Tendulkar should not be compared as they played in different eras. According to him, “Sachin Tendulkar is the Don Bradman of our period.”

  • Sachin Tendulkar’s Bat.

Sunil Gavaskar made an interesting observation during fourth day’s play of the test between India and Australia about Sachin‘s Bat.

The bat which he has been using in the test has brought him 13 centuries. It looked weather-beaten and had tape around the shoulder of the blade.

As they say the man behind the camera is important in photography,so is Sachin with his bat.

The same bat  has been used today(19/2/2011) against Bangla Desh in the First Match of th World Cup 2o11 by Sachin.

    Gavaskar mentioned it in passing.

Incidentally India won the match by 87 Runs.

Sachin got out for an ill judged run

The Indian megastar makes scoring runs so easy – and the reason for that is his technique.

The man’s a walking textbook – if you want to know how to play the ideal straight drive, just watch him in action.

His dead-straight bat is raised for a second or two as the ball rushes to the boundary, showing the bowler the maker’s name of the bat.

Because of his small size, Sachin has incredible balance which means he’s equally comfortable playing off his front or back foot and around his legs.

And unlike most batsman, Sachin has a low grip on the bat, which means his bottom hand controls most of his shots, especially the cut and leg glance.

Most coaches would have nightmares about this, but it doesn’t worry Sachin one little bit.

Because he has very flexible wrists, he can place and control his shots exactly how he wants them.

The huge lump of wood to whack the bowlers to all parts of the boundary also helps too.

Sachin’s bat weighs almost three-and-half pounds (1.42 kg), probably the heaviest used by a batsman in world cricket.

His low grip, along with his heavy bat, help him create incredible power for his drives, cuts and glances.

At times it’s virtually impossible to bowl at him, not the best if you’re the fielding side.

  • Bouncers vs Tendulkar.

Of late Sachin is becoming younger while playing, interms of reflex and coordination.

There have been times when he would have seemed uncomfortable against fast bowlers like Shoaib Akthtar, now he is playing with supreme confidence. as one can see in the video of 2007.

Three years later, one has to see to believe Sachin facing the bouncer of Peter George of Australia in second test at Bengaluru; Sachin lifted the bat on delivery, probably thinking to evade, but he had so much time that he could middle the ball in the center of his bat.

It was sight that brought smiles even on the lips of all cantankerous Aussie players to be supplemented Sachin’s own.

Unfortunately i could not locate the clip.

The best example is Jamie Dwyer, Australia’s hockey champion accepts the fact that he is a huge Tendulkar fan. He says, “I am a big fan of Sachin Tendulkar. I just love his batting. The way he bats is exceptional. He is a role model not only for India but for the entire sporting world.”

    – Andrew Symonds wrote on an aussie t-shirt he autographed specially for Sachin.

“Beneath the helmet, under that unruly curly hair, inside the cranium, there is something we don’t know, something beyond scientific measure. Something that allows him to soar, to roam a territory of sport that, forget us, even those who are gifted enough to play alongside him cannot even fathom. When he goes out to bat, people switch on their TV sets and switch off their lives.”
    – BBC on Sachin

“Tuzhe pata hai tune kiska catch chhoda hai?”
    – Wasim Akram to Abdul Razzaq when the latter dropped Sachin’s catch in 2003 WC.

Question: Who do you think as most important celebrity ?
Shah Rukh Khan: There was a big party where stars from bollywood and cricket were invited. Suddenly, there was a big noise, all wanted to see approaching Amitabh Bachhan. Then Sachin entered the hall and Amitabh was leading the queue to get a grab of the GENIUS!!

“India me aap PrimeMinister ko ek Baar Katghare me khada kar sakte hain..Par Sachin Tendulkar par Ungli nahi utha Sakte.. “
    – Navjot Singh Sidhu on TV

He can play that leg glance with a walking stick also.
    – Waqar Younis

Sachin Tendulkar has often reminded me of a veteran army colonel who has many medals on his chest to show how he has conquered bowlers all over the world. I was bowling to Sachin and he hit me for two fours in a row. One from point and the other in between point and gully. That was the last two balls of the over and the over after that we (SA) took a wicket and during the group meeting i told Jonty (Rhodes) to be alert and i know a way to pin Sachin. And i delivered the first ball of my next over and it was a fuller length delevery outside offstump. And i shouted catch. To my astonishment the ball was hit to the cover boundary. Such was the brilliance of Sachin. His reflex time is the best i have ever seen. Its like 1/20th of a sec. To get his wicket better not prepare. Atleast u wont regret if he hits you for boundaries.
    – Allan Donald

On a train from Shimla to Delhi, there was a halt in one of the stations. The train stopped by for few minutes as usual. Sachin was nearing century, batting on 98. The passengers, railway officials, everyone on the train waited for Sachin to complete the century. This Genius can stop time in India!!
    – Peter Rebouck – Aussie journalist

“Sachin cannot cheat. He is to cricket what (Mahatma) Gandhiji was to politics. It’s clear discrimination. ”
    – NKP Salve, former Union Minister when Sachin was accused of ball tempering

There are 2 kind of batsmen in the world. One Sachin Tendulkar. Two all the others.
    – Andy Flower

“I have seen god, he bats at no.4 for India”
    – Mathew Hayden

“Commit all your sins when Sachin is batting. They will go unnoticed coz even the GOD is watching”
    – A hoarding in England

NOW THIS ONE IS PROBABLY THE BEST AND MOST CUTEST OF THE LOT

“Even my father’s name is Sachin Tendulkar.”
    – Tendulkar’s daughter, Sara, tells her class her father’s name after the teacher informs them of a restaurant of the same name in Mumbai.
