“A few miles from Barsana is Nandagram, another place where Krishna performed many childhood pastimes described in the Bhagavatam. On top of the hill is the main temple that has Deities of Krishna, Balarama, Nanda Maharaja (Krishna’s father), Mother Yashoda, Srimati Radharani, and two of Krishna’s friends. There is also a Shiva lingam in a small shrine across from the temple called Nandisvara, which again is said to have been installed by Vajranabha many hundreds of years ago. It is considered that this hill is an incarnation of Lord Shiva. From the top of the walls that surround the temple we can get good views of the area, and someone who is familiar with it can point out other nearby places connected with Krishna’s pastimes that we may want to visit.(Stephen Knapp)
Nandgaon is located 12 km away from Kosi and is the place where Lord Krishna stayed during his childhood. Few things can be seen in the village regarding the childhood of Lord Krishna that find mention in the Granthas. It is believed that Lord Krishna along with Radha and other gopis performed raas leela on the banks of River Yamuna, flowing through the region.
Nandgaon, often called as Nandnagri, is the home of Lord Krishna’s foster father, Nand. The highest peak of the region, the Nandisvara hill, has a temple dedicated to Nand Baba. This temple was constructed by Roop Singh. The Temple of Narsingha, Nritya Gopal, Gopinath, Nand Nandan, Girdhari and Yasoda Nandan are also located on the way to the hill.
Nanda Bhavan, also known as the Nandgram temple, is another prominent attraction of the village. This temple has black marble idols of Lord Krishna and Balarama. Another section of the temple is enshrined with the deities of Nand parivar and Goddess Radharani.
The idols of the mother of Lord Balarama, Rohini and wife of Lord Balarama, Revati, can also be seen in this temple. The temple also has idols of Krishna’s two friends, Sudama and Madhumangala. The ceiling of the sanctum is adorned with various paintings depicting the life and different episodes of Krishna’s life.
The Finale of Vijay TV Super Singer was conducted in the usual Stay Vijay style with pomp and show on 1 Feb,2014.
The winner is,
Diwakar.
Second and third places went to Syed Subhan and Sarath Santosh respectively.
Sonia and Parvati were the fourth and fifth runners-up.
Diwakar proved that he is an entertainer by choosing songs that connected the audience to a jolly mood, the first song being ‘Arabic kadaloram.
The second, ever popular, difficult to sing, Neeye Uunakku Endrum Nekaraanavan, from Bale Pandiya and he sang this with gutso with the TMS fluctuations and Bhava, with MR Radha‘ antic Jatis.
Syed sang emotionally but chose some emotional song, the first one Eelm Tamil’s agony, though it was excellent rendering did not connect as the ethos was, to be honest, alien to the audience.
Santosh also made the mistake of choosing such songs, though he sung well, that did not sway emotions to turn into votes.

Story:
After the ‘Vishwaroopam‘ row, now Christian groups have filed a complaint against Mani Ratnam’s ‘Kadal’, claiming that it is anti-Christian.
The Indian Christian Democratic Party on Monday filed a complaint with police commissioner S George against the film. They alleged the film had objectionable scenes referring to Christianity and sought their deletion. They warned of intensified protests if police did not initiate action.
Christudas, a representative of the organisation, told reporters that the filmmaker had hurt the sentiments of the people belonging to the Christian community. “We have demanded that the director remove scenes which hurt sentiments of the Christian community. They should take action against the director if the scenes are not immediately removed,” he said.
Such scenes will give wrong ideas about the religion, he added. ‘Kadal’, was released on February 1. Actors Arjun and Aravind Samy are in the lead roles besides Gautham and Thulasi, children of yesteryear stars Karthik and Radha.
Another Christian group lodged a complaint with the chief secretary demanding to ban the movie ‘Adhibhagavan’ as it hurts Hindu sentiments.
Kamal Haasan‘s ‘Vishwaroopam’ had faced hurdles after Muslim groups objected to it claiming the film offended their sentiments. The state government had banned it, following which Kamal moved the Madras high court.
