Roache, who turns 80 next month and is now in a relationship with a TV weathergirl nearly 40 years his junior, also revealed how he had a “one-off” fling with fellow Weatherfield star Pat Phoenix, who played Elsie Tanner.
In an interview with former newspaper editor Piers Morgan on his Life Stories show, the actor told how his wild behaviour led fellow Coronation Street actors to nickname him “C**k Roache”.
