  • Why Islam Is Violent, A Christian View.

I chanced upon an article which was interesting and I am sharing it here.

    It states that,

Yet when we consider that, historically, geographically, and, most importantly, theologically, Islam is remarkably continuous with both Judaism and Christianity, we should see that this is a question that must be raised.  After all, Jews, Christians, and Muslims are of one mind in affirming the divine origins of the Hebrew Scriptures, monotheism, the personal nature of God, God’s justice and compassion, the creation of the world, the orderliness and goodness of the world, and the irreducible individuality of the human person.

Christianity Violence on the Non believers
    Violence in Christianity

Despite these fundamental similarities, it is the followers of Islam alone that have never stopped slaughtering in the name of their God.  Why?..

‘As some critics have plausibly argued, monotheism, being a sort of one size-fits-all concept, expresses a moral universalism that, like all such universalisms, can and has bred arrogance and intolerance in those who endorse it.  Judaism and Christianity, however, have tempered this vision.  Islam, though, has not.  In fact, it is precisely in the Muslim’s objections to Judaism and Christianity that this becomes most clear.

From the Muslim’s perspective, neither Judaism nor Christianity is truly monotheistic.  Judaism has always revolved around the historically andculturally-specific experiences of a particular people—i.e. “the Chosen People,” the Jews.  And Christianity, with its doctrines of the Blessed Trinity (God is Three Persons in One) and the Incarnation (God entered the flux of history by becoming a man in Christ), compromises monotheism even further.’

Judaism  Christianity and Islam share common geographical location and legends.

    Christianity  Non-Violent?

Spanish Inquisitions, Bloody Mary,Crusades are some examples of Tolerance.

Then came and it still exists, carrots, in the form of Money, free Education, Vatican Budget for conversion.

Christianity  has ‘mellowed’ because it has found a  better tool for conversion, persuasion, and the use of Money, both to individuals and Government.

Islam has not learnt it or refuses to learn this from Christianity.

    Pot calling the kettle black?

As to Monotheism, where is it in Christianity except in few references in The Bible, there too you would find the father being mentioned apologetically.

Curiously the author has rolled father, Son and the Holy Spirit into One!

Compared to it, Islam is Monotheistic , if not Monistic.

“The Bible is a historical narrative.  It is this narrative framework that constrains the range of interpretations that the text lends.  It is the Bible’s sequential ordering of events, its meticulous attention to details, to context, that informs its message regarding the One, True God.’

The Bible was prepared edited and published by Constantine ,period.(see my posts on this)

The Koran has no narrative.  Rather, it is essentially a collection of divinely issued moral precepts that, devoid as they are of context, are meant to pertain to all peoples—everywhere.  In ignoring the context of its emergence and development, Islam also neglects the contexts of those upon whom it seeks to impose itself.

This explains why Islam has not, cannot, assimilate to any institutional arrangements that allow a separation of some sort or other between the eternal and temporal spheres.  It is this that accounts for why Islam appears incapable of co-existing for long with any and all potential competitors.

Christianity was institutionalized by Constantine and we know what the Church has done or is doing, including keeping mum during the holocaust.

When a religion is institutionalized it ceases to be free and religion loses its moral force.

    And finally is Christianity tolerant?

    Source for discussion.

    Related;

The first item is to define violence. The only violence that matters to someone outside of Islam, Christianity, or Judaism is what they do to the “other,” or political violence. Cain killing Abel is not political violence. Political violence is not killing a lamb for a meal or making an animal sacrifice. Note that regardless of whether a vegan or a PETA member considers both of these actions violent, neither constitutes violence against vegans or PETA members.

The next item is to compare the doctrines both quantitatively and qualitatively. The political violence of the Koran is called “fighting in Allah’s cause,” or jihad.

We must do more than measure the jihad in the Koran. Islam has three sacred texts: Koran, Sira, and Hadith, or the Islamic Trilogy. The Sira is Mohammed‘s biography. The Hadith are his traditions — what he did and said. Sira and Hadith form the Sunna, the perfect pattern of all Islamic behavior.

The Koran is the smallest of the three books, also called the Trilogy. It is only 16% of the Trilogy text[1]. This means that the Sunna is 84% of the word content of Islam’s sacred texts. This statistic alone has large implications. Most of the Islamic doctrine is about Mohammed, not Allah. The Koran says 91 different times that Mohammed’s is the perfect pattern of life. It is much more important to know Mohammed than the Koran. This is very good news. It is easy to understand a biography ab out a man. To know Islam, know Mohammed.

It turns out that jihad occurs in large proportion in all three texts. Here is a chart about the results:
It is very significant that the Sira devotes 67% of its text to jihad. Mohammed averaged an event of violence every six weeks for the last nine years of his life. Jihad was what made Mohammed successful. Here is a chart of the growth of Islam.
  • Did The Jews Destroy Western Culture?

I have often been intrigued by the hounding of the Jews throughout History by all Races, Nations.

My feeling is that not all of them could be the aggressors and that all of them were wrong.

I have not been able to spot of a single reason for this persecution, barring the oft-repeated statements like the Jews are miserly, they stick together, they bleed others white by usury and they occupy the Highest offices wherever they go, irrespective of the nation where they live.

Did the Jews destroy Western Culture?

And , of course , not to forget Christ!

Jewish Culture was integrated by the Western Culture and , in my opinion, not other wise.

Even Christianity is for the Reformation of the Jewish practices and not out right condemnation of Judaism.

To me to state that Judaism destroyed Western Culture is akin to saying Protestantism destroyed Christianity!

But Historical evidence points out to the persecution of Jews more than the persecution of the West by The Jews.

The Judaic Destruction of Western Culture
The Judaic Destruction of Western Culture

Persecution of The Jews by all Races.

“In the Middle Ages Antisemitism in Europe was religious. Though not part of Roman Catholic dogma, many Christians, including members of the clergy, have held the Jewish people collectively responsible for killing Jesus, a practice originated by Melito of Sardis. As stated in the Boston College Guide to Passion Plays, “Over the course of time, Christians began to accept… that the Jewish people as a whole were responsible for killing Jesus. According to this interpretation, both the Jews present at Jesus Christ’s death and the Jewish people collectively and for all time, have committed the sin of deicide, or God-killing. For 1900 years of Christian-Jewish history, the charge of deicide has led to hatred, violence against and murder of Jews in Europe and America.”[3]

During the High Middle Ages in Europe there was full-scale persecution in many places, with blood libels, expulsions, forced conversions and massacres. An underlying source of prejudice against Jews in Europe was religious. Jews were frequently massacred and exiled from various European countries. The persecution hit its first peak during the Crusades. In the First Crusade (1096) flourishing communities on the Rhine and the Danube were utterly destroyed; see German Crusade, 1096. In the Second Crusade (1147) the Jews in France were subject to frequent massacres. The Jews were also subjected to attacks by the Shepherds’ Crusades of 1251 and 1320. The Crusades were followed by expulsions, including in, 1290, the banishing of all English Jews; in 1396, 100,000 Jews were expelled from France; and, in 1421 thousands were expelled from Austria. Many of the expelled Jews fled to Poland.[4]

As the Black Death epidemics devastated Europe in the mid-14th century, annihilating more than a half of the population, Jews were taken as scapegoats. Rumors spread that they caused the disease by deliberately poisoning wells. Hundreds of Jewish communities were destroyed by violence in the Black Death persecutions. Although Pope Clement VI tried to protect them by the July 6, 1348 papal bull and another 1348 bull, several months later, 900 Jews were burnt alive in Strasbourg, where the plague hadn’t yet affected the city.[5]

Jews in India faced no persecution from Hindus from the time they migrated to India, but they were subjugated by Christian missionaries during the Goa Inquisition from the year 1552. Portuguese invaders in the South India committed massive atrocities on South Indian Jewry in the 17th Century.[6]

I chanced upon one Video and a News Article on the subject, but I remain unconvinced that the Jews destroyed the Western Culture.

In case you have any information, please share.

    Jews destroyed Western Culture.

“Divorce replaces marriage, abortion replaces birth, the home acquires a mere utilitarian function, and the family becomes the battleground of individual strife.

Promoting the erotic-as-its-own-end, Jewish Hollywood deliberately undermines the propagation of the White race, scorns its history, and crushes its destiny.

The disintegrated victims shorn of their organic and historic connections with the great super-personal content of Life, become unfruitful, lose both their will to power and theirwill to propagate.

Following in this wake of Judaic wreckage, the White Christian victims lack the ability to believe in or to follow anything noble and future-reaching.

The Jew has attained his goal in destroying Western culture while at the same time he remains embodied in an organism immune from his destructive programme.

Could another “organism” with its own self-preserving aims and boundaries surface to oppose Judaic rule?

Militarism is emerging as a potent political and economic force in the West. Could the military be the Western world’s last hope in overturning the power of the Jew?…

  • Jesus Used Cannabis,Healed Study.

The Guardian,UK reported a news story stating that Jesus Christ was cannabis User and used it to heal .

Jesus  was almost certainly a cannabis user and an early proponent of the medicinal properties of the drug, according to a study of scriptural texts published this month. The study suggests that Jesus and his disciples used the drug to carry out miraculous healings.

Seem to be a detailed Study.

    'Jesus_Fu.jpg.

“The anointing oil used by Jesus and his disciples contained an ingredient called kaneh-bosem which has since been identified as cannabis extract, according to an article by Chris Bennett in the drugs magazine, High Times, entitled Was Jesus a Stoner? The incense used by Jesus in ceremonies also contained a cannabis extract, suggests Mr Bennett, who quotes scholars to back his claims.

“There can be little doubt about a role for cannabis in Judaic religion,” Carl Ruck, professor of classical mythology at Boston University said.

Referring to the existence of cannabis in anointing oils used in ceremonies, he added: “Obviously the easy availability and long-established tradition of cannabis in early Judaism _ would inevitably have included it in the [Christian] mixtures.”

Mr Bennett suggests those anointed with the oils used by Jesus were “literally drenched in this potent mixture _ Although most modern people choose to smoke or eat pot, when its active ingredients are transferred into an oil-based carrier, it can also be absorbed through the skin”.

Quoting the New Testament, Mr Bennett argues that Jesus anointed his disciples with the oil and encouraged them to do the same with other followers. This could have been responsible for healing eye and skin diseases referred to in the Gospels.

“If cannabis was one of the main ingredients of the ancient anointing oil _ and receiving this oil is what made Jesus the Christ and his followers Christians, then persecuting those who use cannabis could be considered anti-Christ,” Mr Bennett concludes.”

‘D The title “Messiah” is much older than Christianity, as all the ancient kings of Israel are referred to as the “Messiah”. “Christos – Anointed One, a title of many Middle-Eastern sacrificial gods: Attis, Adonis, Tammuz, Osiris. . .” 12

B The “m” is a pronounced plural, and the singular kaneh-bos sounds remarkably similar to the modern cannabis. Although often mistranslated as “calamus”, the word has been translated as “fragrant-cane” in most modern bibles, and specifically designates the fragrant flowering tops of cannabis.’

Response to the information on Christ from http://www.jesus-is-savior.com

Some modern “scholars” have claimed that the King James translators mistranslated the Hebrew word “qaneh” (pronounced “Kaw-neh”).  They did not.  It amazes me how ignorant many of today’s self-professed “scholars” are.  You don’t have to be a scholar to understand the truth, all you need is the Holy Spirit of God (John 16:13).  These “scholars” claim that in Exodus 30:23, “calamus” was actually “kineboisin” –which is the Hebrew word for cannabis (hemp, or marijuana).  Where did this “scholarly” information come from?   Suspiciously, there are only a couple sources of this NEW information.

There are a few different claims, but the most recent and weighty was allegedly from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1980.  Even more suspicious is the ridiculous claim that a few people have found a NEW truth that theologians and translators have missed for thousands of years.  Do you really believe that?  If you do, I have some swamp land in Siberia I’d like to sell you.

Allegedly, in 1903, the British physician Dr. Creighton was the first to determine that several references to cannabis can be found in the Old Testament.  Interestingly, no one can seem to document this claim.  Then again in 1936, etymologist Sara Benetowa (of the Institute of Anthropological Sciences in Warsaw) allegedly discovered the connection between kaneh-bosem in the Old Testament, and the original Semitic Hebrew origins of the word cannabis.  Again, where’s the proof of these allegations?  Anyone can say anything; but without proof, it is only conjecture at best.

I have a big problem with a few things here.  First, are you going to believe a doctor and an etymologist over tens-of thousands of theologians and translators throughout history?  Second, there are NO proofs of these claims.  Third, there is absolutely nothing in the Bible which permits substance abuse.  And fourthly…
The hebrew University in Jerusalem is pro-Homosexual.

They even have the Hebrew University “Gay and Lesbian Student Union.”  Please read, Gays in Israel Demand Equal Rights.  Are you going to trust the Biblical scholarship of a university that allows, condones, trains, graduates, and honors HOMOSEXUALS!  In 1999, Rabbi Steven Greenberg challenged Orthodox Jewish tradition when he became the first Orthodox rabbi ever to openly declare his homosexuality.  He wrote a book titled, “Wrestling With God and Men: Homosexuality in the Jewish Tradition.  Dr. Tova Hartman, a Jewish scholar and a lecturer at Hebrew University’s School of Education in Jerusalem, who teachers gender studies and sex differences, said concerning Rabbi Greenberg…

“Through his deep love and respect of the Jewish tradition he challenges us all to reread our canonical texts in order to create room for an alternative vision of the religious community.”

    More information:

‘As doubtful as the following hypothesis might first seem to the reader, I might as well boldly state my case right from the start: either Jesus used marijuana or he was not the Christ. The very word “Christ”, by the implication of its linguistic origins and true meaning, gives us the most profound evidence that Jesus did in fact use the same herb as his ancient semitic ancestors, and which is still used by people around the world for its enlightening and healing properties.

The Greek title “Christ” is the translation of the Hebrew word Messiah, which in English becomes “The Anointed” D. The Messiah was recognized as such by his being anointed with the holy anointing oil, the use of which was restricted to the instillation of Hebrew priests and kings (See CC#5). If Jesus was not initiated in this fashion then he was not the Christ, and had no official claim to the title.

From the time of Moses until that of the later prophet Samuel, the holy anointing oil was used by the shamanic Levite priesthood to receive the “revelations of the Lord”. At the dawn of the age of Kings, Samuel extended the use of the anointing oil to the Hebraic monarchs by anointing Saul (and later David) as “Messiah-king”. These kings lead their people with the benefit of insights achieved through using the holy anointing oil to become “possessed with the spirit of the Lord.”

“Anointing was common among kings of Israel. It was the sign and symbol of royalty. The word ‘Messiah’ signifies the ‘Anointed One’, and none of the kings of Israel were styled the Messiah unless anointed.”1 The title was clearly only given to those “having the crown of God’s unction upon them” (Leviticus 21:12).

After the fall of the Jewish kingdoms, and the bloody purges following the forged discovery of the Book of theLaw (1 Kings 23), the cannabis holy oil was prohibited as associated with pagan worship. Yet it seems that certain sects retained the topical entheogen, and continued to practice the older religion, silently awaiting the return of a Messiah-king in the line of David.

The ministry of Jesus marked the return of the Jewish Messiah-kings, and thus the re-emergence of the holy oil. Jesus was called the Christ because he violated the Old Testament taboo on the cannabis oil and distributed it freely for initiation rites and to heal the sick and wounded.

Although there is some evidence of Jesus’ use of this Judaic cannabis oil in the traditional New Testament, we get a clearer picture of its importance when we also look at surviving Gnostic documents. The term Gnostic, meaning “knowledge”, refers to a variety of early Christian sects which had extremely different beliefs about both Jesus and his teachings than those which have come down to us through modern Christianity.”

  • Circumcision Banned in Germany,Return to The Reich?

It is atrocious to say the least.

    Citing spurious reasons to insult

    Circumcision of Christ
Circumcision of Christ (Photo credit: Lawrence OP)

    Religious Beliefs is very dangerous.

What if Countries ban preaching /proslytization by Christian Missionaries?

    Story:

A German court set off religious controversy late last week with its ruling that the circumcision of young boys on religious grounds is illegal. Some commentators categorize the ban as just one of many legislative restrictions on religious minorities in Germany, and as part of growing religious intolerance in Europe.

Reuters reports that the Cologne court took action after police were alerted by a doctor who treated the 4-year-old son of first-generation Turkish immigrants Muhsin Sapci and his wife, Gonca, for bleeding after the boy underwent circumcision. A prosecutor sued the doctor in court.

The court ruled that the removal of the boy’s foreskin amounted to bodily harm and involved intolerable health risks. The Economist writes that circumcision was deemed to violate Germany’s constitutional protection of individuals’ physical integrity – religious freedom and parents’ rights came second – and thus should be considered a crime.

The court further suggested waiting until the age of 14 so boys themselves could decide whether to be circumcised.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel intervened over the court’s decision last Friday by promising the Muslim and Jewish communities that they are free to circumcise their children. Meanwhile, the Guardian writes that the government is urgently looking for a way around the ban.

    Medical risk

Given the legal uncertainty, medical practitioners are afraid lay people will start performing the operation, and ritual circumcisions will go underground. The New York Times reports that the German Medical Association condemned the court’s decision for potentially exposing children to medical risk, but it also warned surgeons not to perform circumcisions for religious reasons until legal clarity was established.

“Right now everything is controlled, most people go to a doctor and the child is covered by insurance,” Muhsin Sapci, the young boy’s father said. “If they try to outlaw it, it will still be done, but differently, and that could have consequences.”Public outcry

Germany is home to 4 million Muslims, the second biggest community in Europe, and to about 120,000 Jews. In a rare display of religious unity, the leaders of both faiths teamed up in Brusselsand Berlin last week to demand a reversal of the ban.

  • Deadsea Scrolls.

    Discovery

The scrolls were found in 11 caves, ranging in distance of 125m (Cave 4) to about 1000m (Cave 1) from the settlement at Qumran, located 1km off the northwest shore of the Dead Sea. None of them were found at the actual settlement. It is generally accepted that a Bedouin goat- or sheep-herder by the name of Mohammed Ahmed el-Hamed (nicknamed edh-Dhib, “the wolf”) made the first discovery toward the beginning of 1947.

In the most commonly told story the shepherd threw a rock into a cave in an attempt to drive out a missing animal under his care. The shattering sound of pottery drew him into the cave, where he found several ancient jars containing scrolls wrapped in linen. Another theory was that two young boys were looking for a lost goat and came upon some of them.

Dr. John C. Trever carried out a number of interviews with several men going by the name of Muhammed edh-Dhib, each relating a variation on this tale.

The scrolls were first brought to a Bethlehem antiquities dealer named Ibrahim ‘Ijha, who returned them after being warned that they may have been stolen from a synagogue. The scrolls then fell into the hands of Khalil Eskander Shahin, “Kando”, a cobbler and antiques dealer. By most accounts the Bedouin removed only three scrolls following their initial find, later revisiting the site to gather more, possibly encouraged by Kando. Alternatively, it is postulated that Kando engaged in his own illegal excavation: Kando himself possessed at least four scrolls.

Arrangements with the Bedouins left the scrolls in the hands of a third party until a sale of them could be negotiated. That third party, George Isha’ya, was a member of the Syrian Orthodox Church, who soon contacted St. Mark’s Monastery in the hope of getting an appraisal of the nature of the texts. News of the find then reached Metropolitan Athanasius Yeshue Samuel, more often referred to as Mar Samuel.

The Hebrew Bible (also Hebrew Scriptures, Latin Biblia Hebraica) is a term referring to the texts of the Jewish Bible (Hebrew: תנ”ך‎ Tanakh, an acronym for תורה נביאים כתוביםTorah, Nevi’im, Ketuvim“), composed in Biblical Hebrew. Also included are the portions in Biblical Aramaic (this concerns the Book of Daniel, besides some parts of the Book of Ezra and a few other passages).

The term “Hebrew Bible” is an attempt to provide specificity with respect to contents, while avoiding allusion to any particular interpretative tradition or theological school of thought. It is widely used in academic writing and interfaith discussion in relatively neutral contexts meant to include dialogue amongst all religious traditions, but not widely in the inner discourse of the religions which use its text. The term closely corresponds to contents of the Jewish Tanakh and the Protestant Old Testament (see also Judeo-Christian) and does not include the deuterocanonical portions of the Roman Catholic or the Anagignoskomena portions of the Eastern Orthodox Old Testaments. The term does not imply naming, numbering or ordering of books, which varies with Biblical canon.
