    Father Speaks:.

Father of Delhi gang rape Victim.
Heartbreak: Badri Singh, father of the woman who was gang-raped and murdered in India, has said that he had been hopeful that his daughter would make a full recovery from her horrific injuries

‘Speaking to ITV1’s Daybreak, Mr Singh said: ‘When we went to Singapore she was not conscious but she had tears in her eyes. Then I realised she was in a really bad state.

‘I couldn’t think what to do at that time, I was like a bird without wings, I was neither here nor there.

‘So when I thought she might get better, I used to get filled with some hope. When I was told that she might not get well and might have to have an operation I felt uncomfortable.

‘It was difficult for me, but when she was put on a ventilator it gave me some hope that she would get better. I thought she might get better and she would live.’

Mr Singh said that his daughter’s death 13 days after the horrific attack has ‘brought an awakening’ to Indian society and called for his country to no longer turn a blind eye to attacks on women.

He added that he would like to see a new law or a hospital named after his daughter.

Describing his daughter, Mr Singh said: ‘When she was born my aunties and uncles always used to carry her around, those were really lovely days.

‘Right from the start her ambition was to be a doctor. Her main aim was that our family wouldn’t have to suffer any more, she wanted to put the difficult life behind us, wipe out our poverty.

‘She also wanted to make sure I didn’t have to keep working hard late in life.’

………Mr Sharma said that he would contest Indian police‘s handling of evidence after prosecutors claimed to have forensic evidence which links the men to the attack.

A 17-year-old who is also accused of the woman’s rape and murder will appear at a youth court separately.

Meanwhile, the victim’s companion on the night of the attack, 28-year-old software engineer Awindra Pandey, has spoken out about the terrible ordeal and his friend’s horrific injuries.

He told The Times that his efforts to flag down help from passing motorists after the pair had been dumped in the road were ignored for 20 minutes.

Mr Pandey said that police were reluctant to help his friend despite her injuries.

‘She was asking for water and complaining of pain in her stomach,’ he said.

‘She was bleeding heavily. They (the police) asked me to put her in the van.’

He said that the pair, who were not dating, had been to a cinema in the city to see Life of Pi but were unable to persuade a rickshaw driver to take them all the way back to the Dwarka suburb where the woman lived with her parents.

They were dropped halfway home, when a phone call from her mother asking her to hurry home prompted them to board an illegal bus with blacked out windows.

Mr Pandey confronted other passengers when they began insulting the pair but they soon produced iron rods, he said.

He said that he was beaten and fell to the floor of the bus.

    Delhi Gang Rape Victim
    Delhi Rape Victim in Hospital/

At least now let’s introspect where we went/are wrong and try to ensure that women do not suffer this fate in future.

Agitation sin Public, screaming ,damaging public property and the sensationalism by Television Channels with their eyes on TRP of the issue, will not solve the problem.

The process of punishing the Rapists should be swift within a short time frame and there would be no Adjournments during the Trial.

Let us remember we have our Mothers,Sisters, Wives and Daughters as well.

Let us curb the instinct of trying to bed every woman in sight.

Let us revert to our system of Family values, such as respecting elders, treating women with courtesy.

Let us go to the rescue of the women in distress instead of being Voyeurs.

When I say ‘We’ I Include Women.

Resolve that we will not dress provocatively in the name of freedom of women.

Freedom shout will not bring the dead girl alive.

Shun the midnight outings ,pub culture.

Accompany your women folk in the nights.-this includes your girl friend , if you are serious about the relationship.

If you are in need of sex, visit places reserved for these activities.

Imbibe the Western Culture for Discipline,Industry, eye for Detail and not for anything else.

Remember, other wise the next victim could be your Mother,Sister, Wife or Daughter.

    ‘Story:

“The patient had remained in an extremely critical condition since admission to Mount Elizabeth Hospital,” hospital chief executive Kelvin Loh said.

“She had suffered from severe organ failure following serious injuries to her body and brain. She was courageous in fighting for her life for so long against the odds but the trauma to her body was too severe for her to overcome.

“We are humbled by the privilege of being tasked to care for her in her final struggle,” Mr Loh said.

A team of eight specialists had tried to keep the patient stable, but her condition continued to deteriorate over the two days she was at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, he added.

  • Gang Rape. ‘Drink Dance and Celebrate’ Women On TIMESNOW.

The gang rape at Delhi and the comments by Abhjit Mukereei,Congress MP and the son of the President Pranab Mukherjee has evoked such a storm that the original issue of Rape is lost, the issue of agitation and the comments taking the pride of place.

Electronic Media, seizing the opportunity to increase TRP, went non stop and devoted prime time for discussions.

    Abhjit Mukherjee’s remark:

“Those who are coming in the name of students in the rallies, sundori, sundori mahila (beautiful women), highly dented and painted,” Abhijit Mukherjee, an MP from Jangipur seat which the President had vacated before his election, told a vernacular news channel.

“Giving interviews in TV and showing off their children. I wonder whether they are students at all,” he said, adding, “what’s basically happening in Delhi is something like pink revolution, which has very little connection with ground realities.”

    Let’s read this.

1.’There were beautiful women’ -There is no denying of the fact.-nothing to be agitated about it.

2.’”Giving interviews in TV and showing off their children’-True.

3.’I wonder whether they are students at all,”

    Gang Rape agitation.

    Students demonstrating peacefully?

‘ highly dented and painted -One gets this impression looking at the makeup.

However Abhijit could have kept it to himself.

What followed in the panel discussion in TIMESNOW was totally unconnected to the issue and Mr Abhijit has tendered an unconditional apology.

The anchor talked of Mindset , quoting instances of Andhra Politicians and BJP‘s  Syed Abbas Naqvi.

Yes they are to be condemned

But why lose sight of the original issue of Rape?

Shockingly one Ms. Brinda declared the Delhi agitation is not as much for the rape incident but for the basic(?) feminine Right to

    “Drink ,Dance and  Celebrate!”

Another Girl declared, in response to pointed question by Mr.Rahul that ‘while the rape is to be condemned , it is not advisable to go naked and ask a Man not to rape’,-We want our Rights to dress the way we want, go where we want when we want!’

It was also sad to see that no woman on the panel talked of Family Values, Honor or children!

Every woman was trying to defend the way they want to dress scantily and going about at midnight  wherever they want.

If women do want to go about it that way, let them.

Freedom calls for responsibility  including the responsibility of taking care of one self.

If these people can’t do it for themselves, how would they take care of their children?

The entire talk has conveyed one message,  it is not the Life of the raped, the punishment for the Rapist, the family, well-being of

individuals  that is important, but of doing what one wants asking Men to behave properly.

An information-The number of people who have singed -Stop Rape Now–Men outnumber Women.

For my post asking people to sign the Petition,’ likes ‘are mostly from Men.!

    http://www.timesnow.tv/

PS.Why do women want to dress attractively/ scantily, -not to be looked at by Men?

These ladies are going to state that they were misquoted  or ‘quoted out of context’
