Expected to be launched this week, the Game will be promoted by a Dubai Conglomerate, with a Powerful political big wig associated with Indian Cricket being involved.
The team will be Captained by Indian Captain of all formats MS Dhoni.
“The number 7 is associated with this show as 7 is Dhoni’s lucky number.
The league – that aims to further shrink the number of overs in a game – will be played between seven teams, each representing the seven Emirates of the UAE – Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Sharjah, Ras al-Khaimah and Umm al-Qaiwain. The teams will have players from seven countries – India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa, theUnited Kingdom and Australia, apart from the UAE. Each country is expected to be affiliated with one Emirate.
All the involved cricket boards have reportedly given their consent to 7PL. The number ‘seven’ happens to be significant not just because of the number of Emirates in UAE; it also happens to be Dhoni’s favourite number.
Scheduled to be played from March this year, the matches will first be played in Dubai – both indoors and outdoors at its state-of-the-art cricket facility that also houses the World Cricket Academy – while the quarterfinals, semifinals and the final will be played outdoors. ”
There have been reports in the media that the Indian Cricket Captain of all the three forms of the game is/was involved in a Company that promotes Cricketers.
Rhiti clients
The Company RHITI manages the players Suresh Raina,Ravindra Jadeja ,RP Singh and Pragyan Ojha, among others.
It is reported that Dhoni had/has 15% stake in the Comapny.
As MS Dhoni is the Captain of the Indian Cricket Team the charge is that of ‘Conflict of Interest’
1.Dhoni is legally correct unless there is Clause in the Contract with the BCCI which prohibits him from holding such an investment.
On his side there is a point that owning or investing in a Company that promotes players are not wrong as he alone does not decide the composition of the team.
There is no law prohibiting owning a Company which happens to be in the same line activity.
If the same Logic is to be applied, many of us may not be to invest at all.
If Dhoni is wrong what about Sunil Gavaskar, who at one time a part of Professional Management Group, which manages’managed Cricket Players?
Dhoni is also Vice President of India Cements.
Even this is conflict of Interest as India Cements owns CSK.
This could not have been with out the knowledge of the BCCI.
Why did not BCCI object to it?
There is a consternation that Parthiv Patel, RP Singh have not been given adequate chances.
That’s a laugh.
No body had been given as many chances as these two.
The others too have not performed.
The long and short of it is,that Dhoni may be legally correct.
Morally?
On this count ,right from Sonai Gandhi, Sharad Pawar down the line to Dalmiya are wrong.
See the image above and coun the people who have stakes in IPL.
The funny thing is that nothing is said about Rajasthan Royals whose players have been arrested and RR has been absolved of any wrong doing with out any nquiry!
Money and Morals are poles apart.
Story:
In 2010, he turned it into a business partnership by signing up with Pandey to market him for a whopping Rs 210 crore-deal over three years. It now transpires that the relationship went much deeper: Dhoni owns a 15 per cent stake in the firm, even if it was only for a brief while, as they are so feebly claiming.
Not surprisingly, Indian cricket has responded angrily, with players and officials crying foul. The company, incidentally, also manages Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Pragyan Ojha and RP Singh (who denied being part of Rhiti at the moment), four players who have been almost regular fixtures in all three formats of the game for Team India.
More than that, the preferential treatment that Raina and Jadeja have enjoyed under his dispensation at Chennai Super Kings has always seemed strange. Jadeja, in fact, was acquired for an incredible annual fee of $2 million. One can imagine the killing Rhiti made when the deal was stuck.
TOI spoke to a cross-section of players and BCCI officials and almost all of them conceded that the skipper of the Indian team holding shares in an agency that manages players in his team itself was not an ideal situation. “It should not be allowed because the captain does influence the selection of as team; in fact, overseas, he and the coach have the sole authority on team selection. Now, I can only think of all the instances that looked like ‘wrong’ selections in recent times,” former Board secretary Jayawant Lele said.
“It is better that the BCCI deals with the issue quickly before it gets any bigger,” said former India off-spinner Erapalli Prasanna.
Dhoni has shown a preference for certain players in the team, and this revelation has only added fuel to the fire, with many connecting the dots. According to his critics, many talented players have been dumped during his reign without a fair opportunity. Dig deeper into first class cricket and you can cull out those names: batsmen Manoj Tiwary, Saurabh Tiwary, all-rounder Abhishek Nayar, seamer Dhawal Kulkarni, leg-spinner Amit Mishra, wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel, to start with.
“With him, it’s a question of like and dislike. If you are disliked by him, good luck to you! You can keep performing in domestic cricket, it doesn’t matter” said a player.
He runs so fast to the run up before delivering the Ball the Batsmen go to sleep.
He called the Selectors especially Raj Singh Dungarpur as ‘ a bunch of Jokers’.
Mohinder became a Selector/Joker later.
He calls Dhoni as unfit to be a part of the India Team.
Statistics speak.
Dhoni Statistics.
Since the World Cup ie. since April 3 2011. MS Dhoni in ODIs Matches 25, Runs 859, Average 78.09, Strike rate 95. Don’t really know what Mr. Amarnath is smoking.
Now that Team India has started losing there are criticisms and suggestions galore from every one.
Why should I be left behind?
This is my take.
Team India.
Bowling attack , especially the pace attack is toothless.
Spinning department is weak with Harbhajan (who has over 400 wickets) over the hill, and the replacements are not up to the rigors of International Stage.
Sachin Tedulkar is past his best(!?),becoming nervous in the nineties.
Rahul Dravid , though played well,is on the way out.
For the ensuing Caribbean Tour only four Players who won India the World Cup,Suresh Raina,Virat Kohli,Harbhajan Singh and Munaf Patel are available.
The rests are dropping out for various reasons, injuries, resting or plain disinterested.
The controversy raging right now on the choice IPL or Indian squad by players is unsavory.
BCCI is quietly washing its hands off by stating that theIPL owners are responsible for the players not opting for national Duty(though it is in whispers), IPl owners deflty delect the issue by stating that they are the people who have informed the player Gambir on his ‘niggles’!
Kapil Dev records that those who opt out of National Duty must be left alone as the Players have the right to choose their own life while Sunil Gavaskar says they should be dropped in future.
If we follow Gavaskar’s logic, shall we drop Sachin and Dhoni as well?
Sachin has been absenting himself because he wants to rest and play for a longer period in the International arena.
Dhoni needs well deserved rest
BCCI must remember that it gets a share of IPL profits, it plans the IPL schedule and hence it can not accuse the players of the franchisees of greed.
Best way is to organise the IPL in such a way as to give adequate rest for the players.
Once you have brought huge money into cricket it is natural that all will go in for money.
