Leaving aside the point of differences between the countries ,the concept of bonus needs rethinking.
Bonus Definition. Additional compensation that is paid as a reward for achieving specific goals or providing above-average performance”.

As is evident , bonus can not be claimed as a matter of right.Unfortunately fait accompli,it has become a part of standard pay package.If your performance is above average, you get bonus.Else, NO.

Freedom of Speech-Corporations.
Corporations, as per Company Law, by Definition, are impersonal entities and have only limited liabilities.They do not have Freedom of Speech and Expression as applicable to individuals.Again corporations are formed to conduct business and not indulge in propagation of its views, in which case they become political.Views of those employed by them are covered under freedom of expression individually,but not collectively as a corporation.
The business of corporation is Business and business only.

Corporate Bail out.
What I fail to understand is that when private institutions fail why there is a hue and cry being raised to bail them out.Businness is a question of profit and loss.Profits come in, you rake it.Loss comes, you become a cry baby.Would the Govt. offer financial support to individuals to meet economic down turn?The whole idea is ridiculous.Communism is much better in that at least the Govt has also been making profits when the Govt. enterprises have been profitable.Here, we are attempting to share only the loss.

NYT 13/09/09There is always a sting and a string attached to whatever China does.China is not backing down, but waiting to pounce at an opportune moment.Though unpublished, the current China economic boom is not as much as it wants the world to believe in.At least in countries like US,Economy is open for every one to see and comment;unemployment is being critically discussed.In China except the Statisticians and the top echelons of the Central Comitte, no body knows anything about what exactly is taking place.When there is a protest due to cut back in jobs, it is labelled as rioting among ethnics and suppressed.China is back tracking because it needs West much more than West needs it.Time the West realizes that and apply economic pressure to bring China to acceptable form of behavior,political,human rights and economic.

Health Care- US.
One thing is sure .US Government is subtle in promoting Big business. In India, it is done quite openly and brazenly.In Tamil Nadu,A state in India,the State Government arbitrarily deducted premium for personal health care from govt.employees for a multinational insurance company.Federal Govt. openly sold Spectrum band licences for about Rs 2000 crores which could have fetched Rs.60,000 crores, other wise.(Rs 50=1$).This is just a tip.Be happy in America, for there seems to be atleast some subtlety.None can save us from the politicians or from big businesses.
