Instead of being incensed at the remarks of Omar Abdullah, one should see it in its logic.
If Congress can have Karunanidhi(Party DMK in the Cabinet) ,who has been named in the Jain Commission for involvement in Rajiv Gandhi murder case,in the UPA Alliance,:despite his declaration that he supported LTTE(which he retracted later);who has refused to to be present to receive IPKF on the ground it has raped Tamil Women in Sri Lanka and killed the Tamils, why is it Congress is crying over Omar Abdulla’s remark?
Omar Abdullah.
Because it suits them to have Karunanidhi on its side to prevent Raja and Kanimozhi spilling the beans in 2 G scam and to make up numbers in the Parliament?
Whatever be the compulsions ,Tamil Nadu Government ,by passing the Resolution, has questioned the discretionary powers of the President, which is not Right- the consequence one can see Omar Abdullah’s statement.
Omar is correct in asking that ‘would the reactions be the same?’
The answer,honestly,is NO.
Bot Omar is not Right though correct.
Srinagar (PTI): Chief MinisterOmar Abdullah today raised a question whether a resolution by J and K assembly seeking mercy for Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru on the lines of Tamil Nadu House would also generate a “muted” reaction, comments that came under sharp attack from the BJP.
“If J&K assembly had passed a resolution similar to the Tamil Nadu one for Afzal Guru would the reaction have been as muted? I think not,” Omar punched on social networking siteTwitter.
His controversial comments came a day after the Tamil Nadu assembly passed a unanimous resolution urging President Pratibha Patil to reconsider the mercy plea of three convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case who are facing death sentence. “Omar’s remarks are unfortunate.’
[TamilNet, Tuesday, 30 August 2011, 19:34 GMT] In an extraordinary development in Indian constitutional history, the Tamil Nadu State Assembly on Tuesday unanimously and strongly resolved that the President of India, respecting the sentiments of the people and political parties of Tamil Nadu, should reconsider the clemency appeals of the three Tamils fixed for execution and convert their death sentences into life imprisonment. In the meantime, acting on a legal move by Vaiko and N. Chandrasekaran, The Madras High Court on Tuesday stayed the executions for 8 weeks giving time for the government to file counter affidavit. The President of India earlier rejected the clemency appeals of Perarivalan of Tamil Nadu and two Eezham Tamils, Murugan and Shanthan condemned to death in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, and their hangings were fixed to September 09.
The CBI seems to have taken a 180 degrees turn in the 2G scam case.
Look at the way Unitech and Swann cases being watered down by the submission of the CBI in the Supreme Court that they could not link the manipulation of records and the allotment of the 2G Spectrum Licence.
Please read some of the blog links below and check out those filed under ‘Corruption’,.India’,Radia tapes’.
Curious is the fact that none has deemed it fit and relevant to call Nira Radia as a witness in the case as the whole issue was blown because of these tapes.
CBI has said that Loop’s association with Essar, which was already operating in many circles including Mumbai, should have debarred it from getting 21 licences in 2008 duringA Raja‘s tenure as telecom minister. ….
Placing its 2G scam probe status report before a bench of Justices G S Singhvi and A K Ganguly, the agency through senior advocate K K Venugopal said the shareholding pattern was changed just two days before the allotment of licence. He said the third chargesheet in 2G scam relating to Loop-Essar would be filed by August 31.
…New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday told the Supreme Court that there was no evidence to suggest that former communications minister Dayanidhi Maran used coercive methods to force C. Sivasankaran to sell his stakes in telecom company Aircel to Malaysia-based Maxis group.
Senior counsel KK Venugopal, appearing for the probe agency, told the apex court bench of Justice GS Singhvi and Justice A.K. Ganguly that the CBI “may examine” the then finance minister Jaswant Singh over alleged wrongdoings in the communications ministry in the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance government.
The CBI, on the other hand seems to be paving the way for Raja to get away, at least in cases relating to Unitech and Swann by declaring they have not found evidence to link between these companies and Raja.

‘Puri said he regretted the two words he used– ‘uneducated’ and ‘incompetent’– for his description of the political class, admitting they were inappropriate…
Om Puri also launched a blistering attack on politicians from the stage at Ramlila Maidan. He told the thousands gathered that he feels “ashamed when an IAS or IPS officer salutes a ganwar (illiterate) who is a neta (political leader).
“Yeh anpadh hain, inka kya background hai? Aadhe se zyaada MP ganwaar hain,” Om Puri, known for his character roles, told the cheering crowd…
Mohammed Adeeb, an independent MP from Uttar Pradesh, said Bedi had mocked at parliamentarians by wrapping a scarf around her head and face.
“They say one thing inside the house and one thing outside. You remove one mask, then you find another one, and then another,” she said, at the protest rally of Hazare last week.
Angry MPsSeparately, Mr Hazare’s aide Kiran Bedi and Bollywood actor Om Puri have been accused by MPs of lampooning politicians during the hunger strike.
Ms Bedi had criticised politicians at Delhi’s Ramlila ground, the site of Mr Hazare’s fast, saying they “could not be trusted because they wore several masks”. At the same venue last week, Om Puri described MPs as “illiterate, rustic and useless”.
“Look at the way they fight with each other. They throw chairs, mikes at each others,” the actor had said.
Mr Puri has now apologised for his remarks.
“I am unhappy with myself over two of the terms that I used. The first is ‘uneducated’ and the second is ‘useless’. I agree I could have used better language, but I was caught in the moment and so used those terms,” he told the IBN7 news channel.
