  • Large Hadron Collider CERN Designed After Nataraja Tandava?

The information one gets  by searching the ancient concepts of Hinduism against modern scientific developments is amazing.

I have written about the Nataraja statue being kept in the CERN facility ,Geneva Switzerland.

    Scroll down for Videos.

… the tunnel’s section resembles the structure where Shiva is always depicted, doing his Anandatandava aka Cosmic Dance , Ananda Tandava.jpg … the tunnel’s section resembles the structure where Shiva is always depicted, doing his Anandatandava aka Cosmic Dance , Ananda Tandava.

Why a statue of Nataraja has to be kept in a facility that has been set up to find the God particle, I have wondered.

Sanskrit , Arabic Inscriptions in CERN .jpg Sanskrit , Arabic Inscriptions in CERN .

But I forgot to pursue the matter further,

It is to be noted that the CERN facility does not have a strong commitment to Indian Philosophy,  to have the Nataraja Statue installed at CERN.

Shiva in front of CERN.jpg Hindu “god” SHIVA, right in front of the CERN building, (European Center for Research in Particle Physics) in Geneva. We know that scientists of world wide have been working on LHC development, including Indian scientists, but a 2m high statue of the most feared hindu deity EVER, in front of the LHC facility, seems too odd.

On searching further I have come across information that the LHC may have been designed after Nataraja’s Ananda Tandava.

Probably it is the scientists acknowledgement of the profound thoughts behind the principle of Nataraja concerning sub atomic particles.

Text of the plaque kept next to Nataraja Statue.

Ananda K. Coomaraswamy, seeing beyond the unsurpassed rhythm, beauty, power and grace of the Nataraja, once wrote of it “It is the clearest image of the activity of God which any art or religion can boast of.”

More recently, Fritjof Capra explained that “Modern physics has shown that the rhythm of creation and destruction is not only manifest in the turn of the seasons and in the birth and death of all living creatures, but is also the very essence of inorganic matter,” and that “For the modern physicists, then, Shiva’s dance is the dance of subatomic matter.”

It is indeed as Capra concluded: “Hundreds of years ago, Indian artists created visual images of dancing Shivas in a beautiful series of bronzes. In our time, physicists have used the most advanced technology to portray the patterns of the cosmic dance. The metaphor of the cosmic dance thus unifies ancient mythology, religious art and modern physics.”

There are one hundred Tandavas of Lord Shiva, as Nataraja.

The Ananda Tandava is the Cosmic Dance of Bliss.

‘When Sati (first wife of Shiva, who was reborn as Parvati) jumped into the Agni Kunda (sacrificial fire) in Daksha’s Yajna and gave up her life, Shiva is said to have performed the Rudra Tandava to express his grief and anger. The Shivapradosha stotra says when Shiva performs theSandhya Tandava, the other gods like Brahma, Vishnu, Sarasvati, Lakshmi and Indra play musical instruments and sing Shiva’s praises.[4] Ganesha, the son of Shiva, is depicted as Ashtabhuja tandavsa nritya murtis (Eight armed form of Ganesha dancing the Tandava) in temple sculptures.[7] The Bhagavata Purana talks of Krishna dancing his Tandava on the head of the serpent Kaliya. According to Jain traditions, Indra is said to have performed the Tandava in honour of Rishabha (Jain tirthankar) on the latter’s birth.’

The LHC is a particle booster, built to beam up protons in very high speed and opposite directions, until they collide creating a huge amount of energy capable to reproduce similar cosmic conditions that have creating such phenomena as dark matter, antimatter and ultimately the creation of the universe billions of years ago. The scientist team keeps the beam up speed, between 3.5 and 7 TeV (Teraelectron Volts) to reach a collision energy around 90 times to over 500 TeV. They plan increase the speed of beam up around 12 TeV until 2012.

    Under the radar:

    1) According to Prof Irina Aref’eva and Dr Igor Volovich, both mathematical physicists at the Steklov Mathematical Institute in Moscow, the energies generated by the subatomic collisions in the LHC may be powerful enough to rip space-time itself, spawning wormholes.

    2) According to Fermilab director, Pier Oddone, 7 TeV of beam up speed could cause a collision with energy enough to reproduce to reproduce the conditions of the universe one second after the Big Bang. (Remember that the scientists want reach 12 Tev until 2012)

    3) According to a team of brainiac scientists as the Nobel physicist Frank Wilczek, the Astronomer Martin Rees, the physicist Adrian Kent of Cambridge, the space engineer Richard Wagner and the chemist and physicist Ph.D Otto Rossler, the LHC could “turning the planet into a smoking asteroid the size of a baseball park” or “to create a micro black hole swallowing the Earth from the core outwards, if not the sun”, through the generation of a huge amount of energy equivalent to a thermonuclear bomb per second…

Above you see a statue of the Hindu “god” SHIVA, right in front of the CERN building, (European Center for Research in Particle Physics) in Geneva. We know that scientists of world wide have been working on LHC development, including Indian scientists, but a 2m high statue of the most feared hindu deity EVER, in front of the LHC facility, seems too odd…

That’s weird… The pictures you  were taken within the LHC facility… Strange panels with ancient writings assembled onto a structure with some kind of blue beam light surrounding it,..

that seems to be a movement sensor or something. They could be just fancy messages left by foreign scientists, representing their nations. Some panel seems ancient Mandarin, other some Arab characters, but one particular panel has very strange characters, that don’t seem nothing I’ve seen before and other panel has Sanskrit characters…

This device is also linked to Osiris’s Device and Annunaki.(Osiris Ta-Wer)

This can be traced to Shiva.

I shall be writing on this.

  • ‘God Does Not Exist’ Proof ?

‘God Does Not Exist’ Proof ?

Those who call themselves Rationalists say they disprove God by a mere statement that God  does not Exist.

They declare that They can not perceive Him, so He does not Exist

This often is the One Liner Argument.

Other than this their arguments are in the form of rebuttal and abuse and ridicule of those who say God exists.

Let me examine how constructive the arguments are for disproving God.

Let us begin at the Philosophical Level.

    1.Perception.

One can not see God, hear Him feel Him, so He does not exist.

This argument belongs to Perception as a means of Knowledge.

If one were to accept this yardstick of one experiencing every thing by oneself, then one can not prove anything.

One can not prove he will die  for he has not experienced Death.

One can not prove Hunger, Sex for One does not see hear these.

    Rather one feels.

Feelings by themselves are not perceivable.

They are known by their external manifestations, like being Happy, Sad.

    Feelings are inferred.

Again senses themselves are not infallible.

Renes Descartes , in his masterly analysis, quotes the experience of senses thus.

You keep your hands in cold water for five minutes, then dip them in Hot water,

The warmth takes longer to become effective  when compared to normal circumstances.

One can do this the other way, keep them in warm water and dip later in cold water.

Here, what exactly the senses convey and which one is correct?

If one were to say I am aware that I dipped my hands in hot/cold water earlier, therefore I am able to distinguish the error of my understanding her.

The fact that you understand that there was an error, means the senses do commit errors .

Are the perceptions of things the same for every one for a particular object?

For that matter, are we,or our senses consistent in conveying the information to us?

How does a Blind Man prove there is Light?

If you admit the has deficiency. one can also say we also have deficiencies in perceiving things for which our senses are not equipped.

    Do we Perceive Atoms?

    Do we see air?

The earlier we do believe in, because Science tell us so.

In the latter, we feel air.

So we proceed to the next instrument of Knowledge, perception being inadequate.

(for more on Perception, read my post on Perception under Indian Philosophy,Hinduism)

    2.Testimony.

Atheists dismiss the Testimony  as being not proven.

    Reason?

They are not proved or authentic.

One does not know his Great Grand Father.

    We do believe   he lived.

Because our Fathers have told us.

Similarly one has to believe in Testimony unless proved otherwise by personal experience , not by Logic alone for Logic is faulty.I shall discuss it here later)

What is the authenticity we are talking about?

    Support by other Books?

If we can not believe the earlier ones, why should we believe in the latter?

How  does one learn a Language?

    Through others, Testimony.

Why do we not deny Language?

Because we feel it is essential

Who gave you names for things and why should they be correct .

If you deny Testimony as a source of Knowledge, you should deny tit altogether.

Not in bits and pieces as it suits you.

    3.Inference.

    Inference is built on Logic.

    What is Logic built on?

Mind, which you have not seen or can perceive.

    This is Logical?

If one were to say that the Mind is perceived because of its functions or effects, then one should also believe in God as the primary Cause.

In Logic there are two vital elements,

One is induction and another is Deduction.

Induction is the process by which you come to a general statement(Genus).

The next is Deduction, which proceeds by linking the Genus to individual case.

    Let us see an example.

    All men are mortal.

    Socrates is Man.

    Therefore He is Mortal.

The General Statement that All Men are Mortal does not conform to Logic.

We have not checked all the things that were born, are born or would be born and verified that once born they are certain to die.

This is called the Inductive Leap.

On what basis in this allowed?

Logic again depends on the Law of Uniformity of Nature.

Law of Uniformity can not be proved for the same reason as in the Syllogism stated above.

There is no guarantee that The Gravitational Force will be there to-morrow.

Law of Causality is again built on The Law of Uniformity of Nature.

Moreover, One Cause may produce more than one result and one result may be due to many Causes.

How does one link a particular Cause and Effect?

I shall be writing on this from the Indian Philosophical point of view, Parinama Vada and Vivarta Vada later as it is a complicated topic.

I shall be dealing with the other instruments of Knowledge like Intuition in the future, along with rebuttal for Atheists 50 Arguments point by point.

  • ‘God damned’ Particle- Great Non Sense

I read an edit in the Times of India a couple of days ago that the name God particle was given by a  Pulp fiction writer.

Now the scientists are over cloud nine for discovering the Higgs Boson or God particle was found by using LHC.

    They are 99.9996% certain.

An example of simulated data modelled for the ...
An example of simulated data modelled for the CMS particle detector on the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN. Here, following a collision of two protons, a is produced which decays into two jets of hadrons and two electrons. The lines represent the possible paths of particles produced by the proton-proton collision in the detector while the energy these particles deposit is shown in blue. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

    Why not 100%?

What exactly is this God particle about?

To a layman like me. it appears that it is like a glue or adhesive that binds the atoms/its constituents.

These atomic particles can not be bound without a binding a Force.

This is what the great scientists have found.

    What a great find?

My grand son often tells me that he needs a glue to paste two broken pieces of a toy car.( he is three years old)

Now they tell me that this’ find’ can help them resolve the issues of  factors just preceding the Big Bang.

This find , they say will tell them how the wandering particles, just after the Big Bang  came together!

    Great Minds!

    Viva la Science!

Now, is all this spin about mass fit for mass consumption? It’s fine to say an invisible energy field helps bind infinitesimal entities. Any atom-smashing show starring the Higgs – or its debutant lookalike – will still need a macro-sales pitch to excite the masses. The latter’s opiate, it’s rumoured, is religion. No wonder science chose to name its Holy Grail the “God particle”. Talk about the universal Big Boss, and it creates a Big Bang in the minds of every Tom, Dick and Hari. It’s elementary, my dear what’s-your-name.

The Higgs boson, when confirmed, would complete the Standard Model of particle physics, which describes quirky characters like quarks. Regrettably, ordinary folks might mistake ‘standard model’ for an auto expo exhibit. To interest everybody, science must stop laymen from saying ‘Duh?’ One way is to make a thriller out of its quests. It already entices with use of terms like ‘dark matter” – so thrillingly evocative of Darth Vader – and “black holes”, which must surely be less perilous than our municipally neglected open manholes. Mystery sells. Maybe that’s why boson-chasers keep us on tenterhooks. It’s been a riveting case of now-you-see-Higgs, now-you-don’t.

So, have they seen it? Don’t spoil the suspense by demanding snappy answers to fundamental questions. Instead, hail science that’s up, close and accessible. That CERN researchers have kept society informed, via media, of collisions, emissions and omissions, shows they want to be seen as committed and accountable. What’s the empirical proof they’re doing their bit to popularise and demystify science? Well, aren’t we common folks discussing bosons instead of Botox?

    http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2012-07-07/edit-page/32567129_1_god-particle-higgs-boson-large-hadron-collider

The existence of the Higgs boson was predicted in 1964 to explain the Higgs mechanism (sometimes termed in the literature the Brout–Englert–Higgs, BEH or Brout–Englert–Higgs–Hagen–Guralnik–Kibble mechanism after its original proposers[7])—the mechanism by which elementary particles are given mass.[Note 2] While the Higgs mechanism is considered confirmed to exist, the boson itself—a cornerstone of the leading theory—had not been observed and its existence was unconfirmed. Its tentative discovery in July 2012 may validate the Standard Model as essentially correct, as it is the final elementary particle predicted and required by the Standard Model which had not yet been observed via particle physics experiments.[8] Alternative sources of the Higgs mechanism that do not need the Higgs boson also are possible and would be considered if the existence of the Higgs boson were to be ruled out. They are known as Higgsless models.

The Higgs boson is named after Peter Higgs, who in 1964 wrote one of three ground-breaking papers alongside the work of Robert Brout and François Englert and Tom KibbleC. R. Hagen andGerald Guralnik covering what is now known as the Higgs mechanism and described the related Higgs field and boson.

Technically, it is the quantum excitation of the Higgs field, and the non-zero value of the ground state of this field, that give mass to the other elementary particles, such as quarks and electrons. The Standard Model completely fixes the properties of the Higgs boson, except for its mass. It is expected to have no spin and no electric or colour charge, and it interacts with other particles through the weak interaction and Yukawa-type interactions between the various fermions and the Higgs field.

Because the Higgs boson is a very massive particle and decays almost immediately when created, only a very high-energy particle accelerator can observe and record it. Experiments to confirm and determine the nature of the Higgs boson using the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN began in early 2010, and were performed at Fermilab‘s Tevatron until its close in late 2011. Mathematical consistency of the Standard Model requires that any mechanism capable of generating the masses of elementary particles become visible at energies above 1.4 TeV;[9] therefore, the LHC (designed to collide two 7 TeV proton beams, but currently running at 4 TeV each) was built to answer the question of whether or not the Higgs boson exists.[10]

On 4 July 2012, the two main experiments at the LHC (ATLAS and CMS) both reported independently the confirmed existence of a previously unknown particle with a mass of about 125 GeV/c2(about 133 proton masses, on the order of 10−25 kg), which is “consistent with the Higgs boson” and widely believed to be the Higgs boson. They cautioned that further work would be needed to confirm that it is indeed the Higgs boson (meaning that it has the theoretically predicted properties of the Higgs boson and is not some other previously unknown particle) and, if so, to determine which version of the Standard Model it best supports.[1][2][3][11][12]

  • It’s There, yet not There! -God Particle and Indian Philosophy.

CERN Scientists in search of Higgs Bosun or God particle at the CERN physics research centre near Geneva said that the particle’s existence is 95% confirmed and absolute proof is yet to come.

The researchers were careful to note they do not have enough data yet to definitively say the particle exists, but also said the latest data is strong enough that the question could be answered one way or another by next year.

Researchers hope that the particle, if it exists, can help explain many mysteries of the universe. British physicistPeter Higgs and others theorized the particle’s existence more than 40 years ago to explain why atoms, and everything else in the universe, have weight.

Both of the research teams are involved with CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research near Geneva. CERN oversees the $10-billion Large Hadron Collider under the Swiss-French border, a 17-mile tunnel where high energy beams of protons are sent crashing into each other at incredible speeds.

Fabiola Gianotti, an Italian physicist who heads the team running the so-called ATLAS experiment, said “the hottest region” is in lower energy ranges of the collider. She said there are indications of the Higgs’ existence and that with enough data it could be unambiguously discovered or ruled out next year.’

This sounds more like the Concept of God, He is up there, yet not there.

Levity apart ,Vaisheshika system of Indian Philosophy throws some insight into this.

Vaisheshika system of Indian Philosophy postulates Atomic Theory.

It has recognized the existence of Atoms at the level we come to know of them to-day.
It also explains how they combine with each others to produce a Molecule, and later objects.

Fundamentally all objects can be reduced into Atoms.

    Each Atom is unique(visesha).

When one combines with another ,similar in Nature (not identical), they together form a Binary..

These Atoms in the Binary are conjoined ;but the Binary in relation to these Atoms are not only conjoined with them but the relationship is something more, that is what makes the whole different from the parts. That is to say, the Binary is conjoined ,yet not conjoined. The whole is the Sum of its parts and something more.

The Vaisheshika call this unique properties of Atoms when they conjoin to produce a Binary as ‘Samavaya’.

If one were to remove the threads of a piece of cloth one by one ,at the end the Cloth will become non-existent.

This is the relation spoken of here.

Three Binaries produce a ‘Triad’ which are the fundamental particles to Matter as we see them.

The Triads are related to the Binaries as ‘Samavaya’

This special attribute is what makes up the Universe.

Higgs Bosun particle, even when  proved, will only indicate the existence of another particle and will not explain why it came into being or how it possesses the quality it is presumed to possess.

Ultimately we will find the ‘How’ and not the Why”

In this case even ‘ How’ is doubtful.

    ,

The Higgs boson (sometimes nicknamed the “God particle” in popular media) is a hypothetical massive elementary particle that is predicted to exist by theStandard Model (SM) of particle physics. The Higgs boson is an integral part of the theoretical Higgs mechanism. If shown to exist, it would help explain why other particles can have mass.[Note 2] It is the only predicted elementary particle that has not yet been observed in particle physics experiments.[1]Theories that do not need the Higgs boson also exist and would be considered if the existence of the Higgs Boson was ruled out. They are described asHiggsless models.

If shown to exist, the Higgs mechanism would also explain why the W and Z bosons, which mediate weak interactions, are massive whereas the relatedphoton, which mediates electromagnetism, is massless. The Higgs boson is expected to be in a class of particles known as scalar bosons. (Bosons are particles with integer spin, and scalar bosons have spin 0.)

Experiments attempting to find the particle are currently being performed using the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, and were performed at Fermilab’sTevatron until its closure in late 2011. Some theories suggest that any mechanism capable of generating the masses of elementary particles must be visible at energies below 1.4 TeV; therefore, the LHC is expected to be able to provide experimental evidence of the existence or non-existence of the Higgs boson.

On 12 December 2011, the ATLAS collaboration at the LHC found that a Higgs mass in the range from 145 to 206 GeV was excluded at the 95% confidence level. On 13 December 2011, experimental results were announced from the ATLAS and CMS experiments, suggesting that if the Higgs Boson exists, it is probably limited to a range of 115–130 GeV at the 3.6 sigma level (ATLAS) or 117–127 GeV at the 2.6 sigma level (CMS), and indicating possible scope for a 124 GeV (CMS) or 125-126 GeV (ATLAS) Higgs. As of 13 December 2011, a joint estimate is not available.
