  • Connecticut Aurora Shooting Identical Moon Phase Analysis.

I came across an article posting the phases of the Moon on the day of the shooting spree at Aurora on July 20th and Newtown  on December  14 th.

    Here are the Visuals.

Is there a correlation between Human Behavior and the Phases of the Moon?

Psychotic activity peaks during the Full and New Moon.

At the University of Miami, psychologist Arnold Lieber and his colleagues decided to test the old belief of full-moon ?lunacy? which most scientists had written off as an old wives? tale. The researchers collected data on homicide in Dade County (Miami) over a period of 15 years ? 1,887 murders, to be exact. When they matched the incidence of homicide with the phases of the moon, they found, much to their surprise, that the two rose and fell together, almost infallibly, for the entire 15 years! As the full or the new moon approached, the murder rate rose sharply; it distinctly declined during the first and last quarters of the moon.

To find out whether this was just a statistical fluke, the researchers repeated the experiment using murder data from Cuyahoga County in Ohio (Cleveland). Again, the statistics showed that more murders do indeed occur at the full and new moons.

Dr. Lieber and his colleagues shouldn?t have been so surprised. An earlier report by the American Institute of Medical Climatology to the Philadelphia Police Department entitled ?The Effect of the Full Moon on Human Behavior? found similar results. That report showed that the full moon marks a monthly peak in various kinds of psychotically oriented crimes such as murder, arson, dangerous driving, and kleptomania. People do seem to get a little bit crazier about that time of the month.

That?s something most police and hospital workers have known for a long time. Indeed, back in eighteenth-century England, a murderer could plead ?lunacy? if the crime was committed during the full moon and get a lighter sentence as a result. Scientists, however, like to have a hard physical model to explain their discoveries, and so far there isn?t a fully accepted one. Dr. Lieber speculates that perhaps the human body, which, like the surface of the earth, is composed of almost 80 percent water, experiences some kind of ?biological tides? that affect the emotions. When a person is already on psychologically shaky ground, such a biological tide can push him or her over the edge.

    BLOODY MOON

Crimes and violence aren?t the only things affected by the 29+ day full moon cycle. In the Journal of the Florida Medical Association, Dr. Edson J. Andrews writes that in a study of 1,000 tonsillectomies, 82 percent of postoperative bleeding crises occurred nearer the full than the new moon ? despite the fact that fewer operations were performed at that time! Clearly, the full moon is a dangerous time for surgery, and the dissemination of this knowledge should result in planning operations for the new moon.

Phases of the Moon are said to affect the bleeding of women during menstrual cycle and patients are reported to bleed more if Surgeries are performed.

    Scientific research on the theory

Some studies seem to offer limited support for lunar effects, but most fail to show any relationship between the phase of the moon and abnormal behaviour,[16] and meta-analyses have revealed that apparently significant results are likely to be statistical anomalies rather than indicative of a real effect.[17] In general, apparent positive findings have tended to be inconclusive, contradicted by other studies, or shown to be the result of statistical errors. For example, one study found a statistically significant correlation between lunar phase and hospital admissions due to gastrointestinal bleeding, but researchers acknowledged that the wide variation in the number of admissions throughout the lunar cycle limited the interpretation of the results.[18] Two other studies found evidence that those with mental disorders generally exhibit periods of increased violent or aggressive episodes during the full moon,[19][20] but a more recent study found no such correlation.[21] An analysis of mental-health data found a significant effect of moon phase, but only on schizophrenic patients.[22] Nor are such effects necessarily related directly to the behaviour of the moon. A study into epilepsy found a significant negative correlation between the mean number of seizures and the fraction of the moon illuminated by the sun, but this correlation disappeared when the local clarity of the night sky was controlled for, suggesting that it was the brightness of the night that influenced the occurrence of epileptic seizures.[23]

A reported correlation between moon phase and the number of homicides in Dade County was found, through later analysis, not to be supported by the data and to have been the result of inappropriate and misleading statistical procedures.[17]

Three studies carried out between 1959 and 1973 reported a 1 percent increase in births in New York following a full moon. However, a 1957 analysis of 9,551 births in Danville, PA, found no correlation between birth rate and the phase of the moon,[24] and a 2001 analysis of 70,000,000 birth records from the National Center for Health Statistics revealed no correlation between an increased birth rate and the full moon phase.[25]

A fifteen month study in Jacksonville, Florida revealed no lunar effect on crime or hospital room admittance.[26]

A meta-analysis of thirty-seven studies that examined relationships between the moon’s four phases and human behavior revealed no significant correlation. The authors found that, of twenty-three studies that had claimed to show correlation, nearly half contained at least one statistical error.[17]

  • How To Read The Maya Calendar

With panic running high among the gullible, I thought it fit to search the web for information as to how to read the Maya Calendar.

I was lucky in finding a reasonable explanation from two sources.

    Here they are.

    ‘”

    Mayan Calendar
    Mayan Calendar-Bar and Dot System

The first thing to understand is that the Maya used three different calendars. The first was the sacred calendar, or Tzolk’in, which lasted 260 days and then started over again, just as our 365-day calendar refreshes once it hits Dec. 31. This calendar was important for scheduling religious ceremonies.

The second calendar was the Haab’, or secular calendar, which lasted 365 days but did not account for the extra quarter-day it takes the Earth to revolve around the sun. (The modern calendar accounts for this fraction by adding a day to February every four years, the reason we have leap years.) That means the calendar wandered a bit in relation to the seasons.

The final calendar was the Long Count Calendar — the recording method that has caused all of the doomsday brouhaha of 2012. On Dec. 21 (approximately), the calendar completes a major cycle, which has triggered doomsday fears and mystical rumors about the end of an age. [Full Coverage: The Mayan Apocalypse (Not)]

The Maya shared our culture’s fascination with calendar mile-markers and would have likely considered the date important, Witschey told LiveScience. But they did not make any doomsday predictions about the date. The only two carvings ever found referring to the date depict contemporary kings and their predicted long-lasting legacies, Witschey said.

“Suppose I said to you that George Washington is so important that we will still consider him a revered national leader in the year 3000,” Witschey said. “So now you’ve got the rollover of the zeros, you’ve got an important contemporaneous figure, and you’re looking forward to the future.” That’s what the Mayan carvings are trying to accomplish, he said.

How the Long Count Calendar works

The Long Count Calendar may not predict doomsday, but it is good at covering long periods of time. Here’s how it works: Dates are written out as five numbers separated by four periods, such as 13.0.0.0.0. (The ancient Maya represented these not with numerals, of course, but with their own hieroglyphs.)

The right-most position is called the k’in, which counts single days: 13.0.0.0.1, for example. The k’in counts up to 19 and then flips back to zero, with counting picked back up by the next position, the uinal. So 13.0.0.0.19 would become 13.0.0.1.0, much like a car odometer. [Images: Mayan Calendar Carvings]

Each uinal is thus a block of 20 days. The k’in position then picks back up, counting up to that 20, which then gets added to the uinal. So the day after 13.0.0.1.0 would be 13.0.0.1.1 and then 13.0.0.1.2, all the way up to 13.0.0.1.19 and finally 13.0.0.2.0.

The uinals count upward as well. While the Maya generally use a base-20 counting system, Witschey said, they modify this slightly for the uinal, which only counts up to 17 before rolling over to the third position, the tun. Each tun is thus 18 blocks of 20 days, or 360 days — approximately a year by the solar calendar.

Tuns, in turn, count up to 20 before rolling over into k’atuns. As 20 blocks of 360 days, each k’atun translates into 7,200 days, or just less than 20 years. The k’atun place then counts up before rolling over into the final digit, the b’ak’tun.

If that word sounds familiar, it’s because Dec. 21, 2012, on our calendar marks the end of the 13th b’ak’tun of the Mayan Long Count Calendar. In other words, it’s the day the count will read 13.0.0.0.0. On Dec. 22, it will read 13.0.0.0.1.

Think of the Mayan Calendar as a series of series of interlocking gears with different ratios: a 13 pin sprocket turns inside a 20 pin cog, which itself rotates in another, and it in another and so on. The Mayans did not shy away from large numbers, and invented some rather ingenious methods to write down some extremely large numbers. But before we go into that, here’s a road map of what you are seeing on any typical Mayan display month:

  • ‘Universe A Master Computer Controlled’. Confirms Indian Thought.

Recent Studies on the Universe speculate that there may be 10,500 Universes with different laws of Physics.

Based on String Theory this Study suggests that we might be a controlled by a Master Computer Programme with set patterns.

There could be a Super Computer controlling the Universes.

This Theory may be new to the West.

Indian philosophy ,asserts this Principle at different levels and systems.

    1. Advaita.Or Non-Dualism postulates that the Universal basic Principle is One and That is called  Brahman.

This Principle is the essence of Being,Knowledge and Bliss.

The world as we see it is an Illusion(Maya).

(This Illusion is called as ‘Avidya or Nescience’ at the individual level and ‘Maya’or Illusion at the Macro level)

It is not to say that it does not Exist.

It has a Relative existence with in the laid down parameters.

The other Existence is called Absolute ‘where the words do not reach, nor thoughts operate’.

At this Absolute level, there are no Attributes or Qualities ,to use a common word.

This is Called the Nirguna Brahman.

Then what about the World we see and Live?

As said earlier it also Exists, though in a limited sense, with the qualities that can be perceived by the organs provided to us and also the make up of the External universe.

These Perceptions we have of our Daily Universe is limited in Space and Time, that is Finite, for we have the Mind is limited by its inability  to perceive without reference to Space and Time.

Immanuel Kant put it simple ‘Time and Space are the Goggles through which we perceive’

So the Universe is Finite for we conditioned to perceive the limited or the limited Nature of the Universe.

The different Universes that exist are regulated by other Laws and the Perceptive organs and the Laws are totally different.

There are 14 levels of Existence, each being controlled thus.

2.Theory of Karma. Karma means action.

Every action performed produces equal and opposite reaction.

When we complete an action, we have excluded the other choices presented to us.

Any choice presented has a set pattern.

So when only one option is taken the balance remain.

Action is a form of energy and once available can not be destroyed but can be changed.

Hence the opposite reactions for our actions and the remaining actions remain even after completion of action.

This remnant  Energy , since it originates from the Doer, the reactions are limited to the Doer alone.

This in short is the abstract of Karma Theory.

    Karma is of three kinds.

Sanchita Karma-Total accumulation of the reactions of the actions of the  individual.

What ever we under go is due to a portion of the Karma that is taken out of the totality, Sanchita Karrma.

This Karma is called Prarabda Karma

The balance of the Sanchita Karma will take its course.

Then what about the actions we perform?

This is called Kriyamaana Karma which will yield results and to use banking term, will be credited or debited to your account.

An extension of this thought proves the existence of Life after Death and Rebirth.

As the quality of actions and consequently the reactions differ , one is assigned to different levels of Existence.

Buddhism,Jainism. The Theory of Karma is applied more stringently.Things differ from each other because of the rate at which they vibrate,

Higher the vibration subtler it becomes.

    Lower it becomes Gross.

Actions create vasanas and vibrations and these results assign one to different levels of existence and worlds.

    Universe
    universesandbox

“Imagine the situation where we get a big enough computer to simulate our universe, and we start such a simulation on our computers,” said professor Martin Savage, a physicists working on the project. “If that simulation runs long enough, and have same laws as our universe, then something like our universe will emerge within that simulations, and the situation will repeat itself within each simulation,” he said.

The current understanding of string theory indicates that there are 10,500 universes with different laws that determine the behaviour of particles within them, he said.

“So it is certainly true, that with enough computer resources, theorists would like to explore these universes ,” he added.

Explaining how the experiment works, physicists claim that finite computer resources mean that space time is not continuous but set on a grid with a finite volume, designed to create maximum energy subatomic particles. The direction these particles flow in will depend on how they are ordered on the grid. They will be looking at the distribution of the highest energy cosmic rays in order to detect patterns that could suggest that universe is the creation of some futuristic computer technology.

And if it does turns out that we are mere players in some sort of computer programme, they suggested that there may be a way to mess with the program, and play with the minds of our creators. “One could imagine trying to figure out how to manipulate the code, communicate with the code and questions that appear weird to consider today,” he said…

    http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2012-12-17/science/35868462_1_computer-resources-universe-simulation

The point that we can manipulate the master code is fallacious as the Finite can not manipulate the Infinite .

Some things never change. Physicists call them the constants of nature. Such quantities as the velocity of light, c, Newton’s constant of gravitation, G, and the mass of the electron, me, are assumed to be the same at all places and times in the universe. They form the scaffolding around which the theories of physics are erected, and they define the fabric of our universe. …

In recent years, however, the status of the constants has grown more muddled, not less. Researchers have found that the best candidate for a theory of everything, the variant of string theory called M-theory, is self-consistent only if the universe has more than four dimensions of space and time – as many as seven more. One implication is that the constants we observe may not, in fact, be the truly fundamental ones. Those live in the full higher-dimensional space, and we see only their three-dimensional “shadows.” …

In fact, string theory allows for a vast number – 10,500 – of possible “worlds” with different self-consistent sets of laws and constants. …

The constants are a tantalizing mystery. Every equation of physics is filled with them, and they seem so prosaic that people tend to forget how unaccountable their values are. Their origin is bound up with some of the grandest questions of modern science, from the unification of physics to the expansion of the universe.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2005/06/26/weekinreview/26read.html?_r=0

After measuring alpha in around 300 distant galaxies, a consistency emerged: this magic number, which tells us the strength of electromagnetism, is not the same everywhere as it is here on Earth, and seems to vary continuously along a preferred axis through the universe,” Professor John Webb from the University of New South Wales said.

“The implications for our current understanding of science are profound. If the laws of physics turn out to be merely ‘local by-laws’, it might be that whilst our observable part of the universe favours the existence of life and human beings, other far more distant regions may exist where different laws preclude the formation of life, at least as we know it.”(science Daily.com)
