Restore 14 Century Andal Idol Los Angeles Museum Request Information

I have written an article seven years back that A Verse from Srimad Bhagavad Gita was found in an Egyptian Tomb. Appropriate Bhagavad Gita Verse In Egyptian Pyramid.

Egyptian Pyramid 2 Tablet containing Bhagavad Gita verse.

In the article I mentioned that I was looking for the Pyramid 2 which contained the verse. I received a reply from a reader that it was in the British Museum. When I visited the Museum in 2019 , I was informed by the curator that the Tablet was returned to a (? Or The) Private collector and the Museum can not provide that information.

While there is considerable attention is paid to some idols being brought back to India from abroad, there seems to be no clue about an Idol of Saint Andal belonging to 14 Century. This Andal Idol is in Los Angeles Museum now.

Can someone in Los Angeles get more information on how the museum had come in possession of Andal Idol so that we can consider bringing it back?

Invaluable idols were smuggled out of India by invaders and later by crooks.

These are not mere idols. They are our Past, represent our culture. And like the Tablet containing Bhagavad Gita verse in Egyptian tomb, they can and will rewrite Indian 🇮🇳 History.

The image I have provided is from Wikipedia and is free to publish . ‘This file is in the public domain because it has been released by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art www.lacma.org with its “Public Domain High Resolution Image Available” mark.

Mr. Ramani,
Its Pyramid 2 in Egypt but the tablet was immediately taken to British Museum and no photographs can be found online)

This verse is from The Bhagavd Gita Chapter 2,verse 22.

The text and translation.

vasamsi jirnani yatha vihaya
navani grhnati naro ‘parani
tatha sarirani vihaya jirnany
anyani samyati navani dehi

vasamsi–garments; jirnani–old and worn out; yatha–as it is; vihaya–giving up; navani–new garments; grhnati–does accept; narah–a man; aparani–other; tatha–in the same way; sarirani–bodies; vihaya–giving up; jirnani–old and useless; anyani–different; samyati–verily accepts; navani–new sets; dehi–the embodied.

As a person puts on new garments, giving up old ones, similarly, the soul accepts new material bodies, giving up the old and useless ones.

How appropriate for a Tomb?
