I have posted some Mantras on Santhana Gopala Mantras for being Blessed with Children.

I included in the post Mantras to prevent abortion.

A little earlier I posted an article on Karbha Rakshmbigai for easy , natural delivery.

Many readers wanted to know more on this subject.

To begin with I am providing information on how to follow the Shasti Vrata for Lord Subrahmnya for begetting children.

I have observed, personally,that this Vrata has blessed the couple with children, in one case after 12 years and in another after six years.

As on 25th October, 2017, Seventeen have been blessed with CHILD after following the procedure.

This speaks of their faith and meticulous following of the procedure.

Have a Subrahmanya Idol/Photo at Home.

Choose the sixth day of the Waxing moon, Shukla Shasti.

Take two one rupee or five rupees coins , have them tied up in a new white cloth tinged with turmeric powder.

Pray your Family Deity for child.

Keep these coins in the pooja room or in front of the Deity at Home.

( all these are to be performed after taking bath and with out taking food).

Preferable if the husband wears Pancha kachcha and ladies Madisar,

Perform the Astotra of Lord Subramanya.

As Naivedya, offer Milk Payasam ot Sakkarai pongal.

Or A teaspoon of honey or dry fruits.

On this day the couple are not to eat anything.

They should take fruits in the night.

The couple should be together in the night.

This Vrata has to be performed for 45 days( on every Shasti, both Shukla and Krishna Shasti)

Ensure that you do not disclose to others that you are following this Vrata.

I have noticed that woman conceive after the second observance, that is after the first shukla shasi when they have started the Vrata.

If it possible, one may visit the Family Deity and Lord Subramanya in any of His Arupadai veedu, His Six Abodes , before the starting the Vrata.

Or one may visit after the child is born and offer the Coins they have kept at Home before the Vrata.

Thanks for posting this sir.Unfortunately there was a lapse frm my side while following this vratam.
In the morning while trying one rupee coin by mistake I did tie only one instead of two coins.I realised it in the evening n added one more coin in the evening n tied it again.Does it mean that my vratam is incomplete today?Should I restart again next Shashti?Kindly help with your reply.Thanks.

  No problem .If you have completd the other procedures the Vrata is Complete.Have the coin dropped in the Temple(of the Deity Murugan if you have kept the oin for Murugan or the Family Deity).May Goddess Abhirami Bless you..

    Tieing one rupee coin is to take the vow. Once you start the vrata you need not do it. And when you visit Subrahmanyas temple , drop the coin in the temple Hundi.

  The period from New Moon to Full Moon is Sukla paksha and from Full Moon to New Moon is Krishna Paksha.New Moon is Amavasya and Full Moon Pournami..Shasti is the sixth day from both . You can get this from Daily calendar.Check this Link to find http://www.drikpanchang.com/

    The Vrata is to be followed for 45 days.If you conceive, most likely you shall conceive, during this period, you may continue till you complete 45 days.

    Next shuklapaksha shasti is on 10th June, i saw in calendar starting from 10th 45days is till 24th July. In this 45 days shasti is on 10th June, 26th June, and 10th July. So should i perform the pooja on these 3 days. Please correct me if I am wrong and give exact dates if I am starting pooja from 10th June.

  Both have to perform the Pooja.You can drink water, tender coconut water during the day and can take fruits and Milk in the night.This applies for the day the shasti falls and on other days you can take any vegetarian food.

  No. Do it once on the day of the first day when you start vrata.You can go temple amy day durimg the vrta period. It is preferable to go on Shasti day.

  Congratulations. You are seventh who have conceived following the article.You may continue till 45 days are over. You may take normal food during these days. Your husband can follow the diet regulations. During this period of Vrata please avoid onion garlic and Non veg.May Goddess Garbharakshamika and Subramahmanya bless you for safe delivery

Hiii sir,
I started this fast last year in December, and will do it every month without fail. I will revise kandha sashti kavacham while going to ofce in train because I go to office, but I make sure I simply light lamp, do namaskaram to Lord Murugan and go to temple also. But, still I have not yet been blessed with a baby trying from past 1 year. Can you tell me what can be done and also let me know if we need to do fast on all six days after Diwali till Akansha Shashti or only on 6th November.

Hi Sir,
Very useful post. Last year also we followed the vratam on skantha shasti 6 days in aippasi. We are desparate for kid from past 6 years, but not a positive sign. Here I need few clarification. This vrat start on shukla paksha shasti and then we hv to continue for next 45 normal days? Or else every shashti thiti falling date we hv to do fasting? Coz in a year only 24 shashti thiti comes. If its 45 days to continue all day we shiuld fast and then take only fruits or on only shashti thiti. Kindly correct me.

Very useful post ,sir please let me know whether I need to be on vegeteriam food for all the 45 days or on water and fruit diet ,
Or is it only on shashti days , I allowed to take non veg on other days ,
Since I have started my vruta on skanda shashti today ,please advise .

Namasthe sir ,
I started my shashti today for 45 days ,are we allowed to eat fruits ,it was all normal till afternoon with tender coconut ,but suddenly started puking ,

Sir is it only on Nov 6 ,starting shashti I need to be on water & fruit fast ,and other following with vegetarian without garlic and onion ,because body is nor permitting
Please advise

Hi sir, we can have fruit diet during day time also or oly water during day and night fruits, on Vartam day.

I started my Shasti vratam today in the morning and tied 2 1rupee coin as mentioned in your blog and completed pooja. But unluckily i got my period in afternoon. So plz tell me shall me n my husband continue this vratam for 45 days or start from next Shasti.

    As i have mentioned i have already tied 1rs coins, do i need to tie it again in coming next shasti after pournami(full moon) or after amavasya(new moon) and from when my 45 days vrata would be counted. Also can i make non-veg at home for other family members during 45 days vrata. plz rply…

We have completed this Vrata on 3 Shastis (both Krishna and Sukla Paksham covering 45 days) between November 5th and 5th December. Kindly let us know do we observe this Vrata for 45 days or observe it for 45 Shastis?

Hello Sir,
Thanks for posting this vrata information. Unfortunately there was a lapse from my side while following this vrata.
On some calender I found shashti is on Dec 19th, So I started on 19th. This is my first shasti. But afternoon my friend told shasti was on Dec 18th itself. Even though I continued. Can I consider it? or shall I re-start shashi vrata from next month? I tied one 5Rs coin while starting vrata instead of 2 coins. Later I realised. 😦 What can I do now? If I start from beginning should I tie again? What shall I do with old one? Kindly help me with your replay sir. On shukla shashti I have periods, so I have to start on krashna shsti itself .

  Hello sir, it was a nice article giving me some confidence as I don’t have child already 7 years I got married and I am with my husband in overseas …. please don’t take me wrong…. in this 45days vrata can my husband drink alcohol…he normally drink at weekend only…. just to make sure I tell my husband the right thing to him.   Begin on 15th September 2018, Saturday,Sashti vrata.You pray for Male child.perform this vrata for 45 Days. That is Sashti falling during this time frame.
  
  Dates are.15 September,30 September ,15 October.
